Hey guys, I’ve been listening to my new Spartacus now that the cable is burned in, and I have to say, this set sounds beautiful to my ears.

The first aspect of its sound that jumped out at me was the quality of the bass performance: the sub-bass is quite impressive for a BA design. There is texture with this bass as well.

The midrange is highly resolving without any mid/upper-mid edginess, and the trebles are quite extended leading to some beautiful imaging; the soundstage is very wide, outside of your ears wide, with good depth & height, but it’s the bass that really stands out on this design.

I’ve always had a fondness for all BA designs going back to the first set I bought with such a design: the Moondrop S8. I don’t have it anymore, but it left an indelible impression on me.

Anyway, a big thumbs up from me.

Sennheiser is owned by Sonova, who is one of the largest prescription hearing aid manufactures in the world. The charging case for their H.A.s snap solidly shut. They have to make tolerances and hardware as bullet proof as can be......some of their H.A.s sell regularly for $7k+ and are used 15 hrs/7/365... they know a thing or 2 about getting the best sound from small platforms.

That's all cool and all, but large companies wouldn't touch a wood cnc project like the prestige. From a manufacturing prospective, it is a huge beast to take on.

Also, wood doesn't really allow for the same micro precision/tolerances an injected molded part can have.

As soon as sand paper is introduced, all bets are off.

Ultimately, prestige products are hand finished and will be as unique as their grain patterns. That has appeal to some people, but some people would rather have precise conformity.

I respect that as well (I drive German classics)

I can't remember

I just remember this:

1) when I first saw the wood, I thought there is no way that would turn out well

2) originally there were 2 sets of shells made with that wood, but my wife cleared off my desk.... one side vanished after that....

She still feels bad about tossing that housing

So ultimately only one set was made from that particular piece of wood

3) I gave that set the name "Chaos"

When I was at Dallas Canjam, I spoke to Kai about the XM-1, he mentioned there'll be an app with EQ for the XM-1, is there an article or video showcasing the use of the app with the XM-1? Would be very curious.

There may have been some confusion. The Triumph (xmems tws) will be able to be controlled through our existing app, the XM1 will not have that feature.

im waiting for the triumph to be released hopefully theres 1 in red or in black i did notice the tripumph didnt have that bass boom from the fokus pro or mistique or prestege im used to but aside from that it was just really enjoyable like you can just sit down close your eyes and let the music take you away like your chilling a small quiet little jazz club where the acoustics of the room are properly treated. now if it just had the bass i think it woulda been the perfect tws iem

I first demo’ed Noble’s Spartacus last October when visiting Addicted to Audio Melbourne on a weekend for a head-fi show. I had no real expectations of it at that time, but it really wowed me then, and even on a weekend that I heard such amazing sets such as Amber Pearl, STORM, Aura and VE X, Spartacus really stuck in my mind as something I wanted to spend more time with. Well I got that chance over this past weekend when another member decided to let his go…

The fit is just about perfect for me; the shells are not huge, and although the nozzles are a bit long, they fit my canals really well. I’m getting a nice deep fit with CP100s, finally I’ve got a use for SpinFits.

The 4x BAs are giving me a surprisingly large and deep sound with very satisfying sub-bass rumble, the 2x BCDs must be doing some heavy lifting I guess. While it doesn’t have quite the same impact as the DDs in something like Annihilator or Xe6, Spartacus speed and precision is outstanding. The thump in a track like this coupled with the bite of the electric guitar is irresistible:



I’m also really liking how coherent this IEM is, and it’s giving me a much better experience of BCD than I had with MEST Mk3; that IEM felt a bit disjointed by comparison, and its BCD had an annoying resonance the upper mids for me.

Spartacus is working great with quite a wide variety of genres, but the real spine-tingly jaw-dropping moments so far have been with tracks that are a bit more sparse, and/or with female vocals.





Really happy to join team Noble, and looking forward to many hours with this fantastic IEM!

I agree with you wholeheartedly. There’s a consistency in the overall impressions of this IEM that speaks to how well it’s engineered and tuned. Listened to Ariana Grande’s Sweetener recently and Spartacus blew me away with its staging, speed, vocals, coherency and slam.
