Does anyone tried Noble Sultan Universal to pair with Shanling M8? I'm considering Noble Sultan for the M8, I wonder whether this is going to be a perfect match for the sound.
Nope but with iBasso DX220MAX and DX300MAX.
Wonderful synergy....
M8 and DX220MAX are very close together in terms of review comparison......

See anything different about these?

Noble-Pins.jpeg

It all started in a thread about audiophile woodworkers making things for the hobby: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/woodworking-audiophiles-making-our-own-stuff.958775/

John chimed-in and then we began talking over direct messages. He told me he'd been wanting to make a special pair of IEMs: "No screws no modern tricks. Just glue and wood pegs." And I wrote back that I always order my steak the way the chef wants to make it.

He was correct to assume a fellow woodworker would appreciate "hardwareless" IEMs. They're still in the break-in period, so I will reserve comments about how they sound for later. They don't suck

Huge thanks to John for walking me through the process and taking photos along the way. Those are coming in the next post...

The finished photos:

I'm blown away by the whole thing! The experience and the way these pieces of art look. What's funny to me is how much I like the Russian Birch. I guess it makes sense as one of my favorite trees is yellow birch. But no birches I have worked with ever finished as cool as these did!

Basically this is a modified "Sultan" housing, the CAD work was done by Victor (AKA: Rico Suave)

Victor has been a member or team before Noble was even established, while he remains behind the scenes, like all team members he is integral to Noble. Basically he does all things computer/electronic related. (He is also responsible for most the photos of our products & packaging design)

We all wear many hats at Noble.

My brother, (Jim) did the CNC work in the USA and shipped the housings to me to do the assembly etc. Jim currently runs our CNC machines and takes care of the behind the scenes business parts of Noble.

The actual housing design designated name is "Dowel Joint housing" (DJ housing)

The DJ design can be used for all of our flagship universals upon request.
(Sultan, Khan,K10 L, Encore, Katana)

My Khan performs best for me with the Symbio (no foam) tips. I have tried other cables but the stock is my goto.
