I love how this part of the review was what stuck out to me first.

From the review of Seesax, it sounds like the Zephyr share the same DNA of the Katana with neutral sound and good, clean sub bass. Can you tell me the different between these 2?The Savant II is strictly a 2 way BA design, the Zephry is a hybrid 3 way design. That's a pretty far separation from a tech point of view. Sound wise, both are great but the 10mm dynamic driver of the Zephyr.... just makes everything soooo right.
The fit in the product line.... the sound quality...
Well, let's just say, "We are not in Kansas anymore." We currently have head fi members that have both the Sultan and the Zephyr... they z
can chime in when they want.
But I will say, I feel confident enough to say.... the Zephry is in the ranks of a flagship based on sound quality.
That said, it will not have a housing as complicated as the Sultan, nor does it have 3+ levels of tech placed inside it.

Driver wise, they have nothing in common.
Sound may characteristics might be similar
But that may be a stretch to say they are the same. BA & dynamics generally do not sound the same which is why dynamics drivers are used.
I have one individual in the recording industry that likes hybrids because of the slower decay on the bass. He states it gives the sq more realisim.
so how does the zephyr compare to the katana?

If I have a katana, would I find the zephyr sound very similar or a worthy upgrade? Or should I just think bigger (sultan)?

^ yowza! Amazing ... but
Holy Moly...! No.002 looks like some kind of supernova...
I think my wallet will only extend to the regular model but boy those prestige models are purdy.
Very curious about these.
I haven’t read the review yet so forgive me if it’s covered (I’ll be reading it shortly) but how’s the fit compared to something like the K10 and a wizard model Katana? I have fit issues with the smaller Noble shells of something like a wizard katana or Savant II. My left ear doesn’t hang onto iems well.

At very first glance for about a 1/10th of a second the Katana and Zephyr share a bit if something. They share that they do not color anything to a point of distraction. The notes on the Katana come and go quicker. The Katana has more sub bass. The Katana is more analytical.so how does the zephyr compare to the katana?

I have the Wizard Katana. There is no comparison in size. Wizard Katana is small. It did take a long time to find a tip that worked for me on those. The Zephyr is the standard “nugget” shape like a lot of IEMs. The shape is very similar to the shape of IEMs like the EE LX and Khan. I have no fit issues with the “nugget” shaped IEMs.^ yowza!
