Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

Quick question for all iem gurus - Can I damage my Savant II, by having the cable connected wrong? I had the connectors with the + and - backwards (I believe this is called reversed polarity), on both left and right iems. Thanks for your time!

Probably will not cause any problems, I've done that on multiple iems over the years sometimes when swapping cables. It may make things sound a bit different.

Thanks! I am just a bit concerned as I read somewhere that reversed polarity can damage the crossover, but I don't know if that is true.

Nope. Worst that'll happen is a slightly wonky soundstage, or so I've heard.

Cool! Thanks for that, as well. I have been testing out a new cable, and thought it sounded a bit odd, but I just chalked it up to a bad pairing. Then this morning I switched cables and noticed that I had it hooked up reversed and freaked out. Now, it is time to hook up the cable correctly and give it another shot.

Hey, @Wes S how do the Savant II and K10U compare? I've EQ'd my SII to match the K10U pretty close, so I know the general sound. But, is there a big improvement on the technicals?

Hey there! The K10U is a big step up in all technical regards, but the Savant II are a bit easier on my ears, and get just as much ear time. They both have similar balanced sound, but the K10U is more detailed and has faster attack. I don't do eq., and use them both with an iBasso DX160. Also, the K10U have been selling often for as low as $700, and for the extra $200 jump from Savant II it is most definitely worth it. I still can't believe that price, for the sound quality. I have some really good full sized headphones and gear, and my K10U are technically my best sounding pair of all of them.

The savant is insane for what it is.

I frequently pull them out of my ears and stare at them in wonderment...

That said, for me, the k10 offers a fuller sound. But like the Savant, nothing is offensive about it.

I agree with the above, I purchased mine from Drop for just over £500, I also have the Noble Sage that I paid £600 and my Noble K10 are far superior, they sound awesome with my Questyle QP2R, Sony WM1Z and AK380 Copper.

Insane is a great way to put it! Everytime that subbass hits, I am amazed there are only 2 ba's in there. The Savant II are the kind of sound sig, that you can listen to all day with zero fatigue. They have killer bass, euphonic mids, lovely forward vocals, and just enough sparkle in the highs.

Definitely! I go between thinking, "What could Noble possibly do with a bunch more drivers that they aren't doing here?" and "My god... what could Noble do with a bunch more drivers?!"
