Pay the extra $$, maybe they will do it, only they can answer that.
While I'd expect the answer to be a "just buy a new set of encores", Id totally do it.
Time to email support...
Maybe I can beat you to the punch, I can crack mine for the third time, blame it on the case Noble sent me, then make them cover the repair cost and upgrade mine for free. Just don't tell Noble about my plan.![]()
Since universals are out of stock now, what's about the custom ones? And if you ordered some K10 recently, can you upgrade them/your order?
Oh man, I expect MANY to ask about doing this, should make for some good reading. Time for the Noble thread to take off again.
isn't new driver + new shell effectively = new CIEM?Well I already emailed the support mailbox to ask if my (now)OG K10s can be upgraded so I'll have an answer for that question soon

Yeah...i'd just be starting with an existing IEM instead of from scratch

The Sage uses a different bass driver than before, custom-ordered with a larger, back firing bass vent. Mids are slightly warmer and fuller as a result. Bass is increased slightly, 2-3 dB, with better low extension.
From the horse's mouth, K-Encore has fuller mids and less emphasis on both ends. I don't want to make any emphatic claims because I don't have a lot of experience with the K10U and the last time was well over a year ago, but I like the overall balance of the K-Encore --- rich, fluid, spacious, and dynamic, without overpowering bass.
At least we know John has been doing some work instead of just enjoying the high life.![]()
And here we all thought he was retired.![]()
