Hi folks, lookie what the mailman dropped off!!



Unboxing and first impressions to follow, including official threads ala X10. I gotta say, xDuoo is killing it in terms of package presentation!
I will compare against the X10 to begin with. Can anyone give me any advice on how to volume match DAPs for easy comparisons? I have a whole bunch of DAPs to compare against, but unless I can volume match them all, it won't be a fair comparison.

I wonder if you have any other DAP like the Ibasso DX90 that use same sabre 9018 dac??
Could be interesting to know how its implemented, as it will surprise be if it sound razor sharp like DX90....not Xduoo style but who know?

By the way, I fall on this....Xduoo hasn't finish to produce new stuff. Don't know much information about this one but its confirm, its a new portable Xduoo dac-amp especially made for smartphone, its call Xduoo POKE. Look like a XD-05 for young generation hehe Tough I will share it even if i'm way more interested about X20!

I don't have an X20 to try out the update but I can tell you I was able to download it with no problem and unrar it into a txt file explaining how to use the other update file so I'm pretty sure it isn't corrupted. Perhaps try using a different browser to download it?

Pretty good first impression, detailed and powerful output. I feel it's on the warmer side of neutral. Tried with RS1i and sounded very good. The quality of the screen is very pour. Gapeless it's working fine and no pops or clicks between tracks. The UI is fast.

How about the single end output compare to the balanced output? I don't want a bad single end, even the balanced one is very good.

Will do AB testing with GR07X this evening since it's easy to switch cables without remove the IEM from the ears.

With GR07X I can't tell much of a difference between SE and Balanced. To my ears the volume level remains equal, funny thing because on specs balanced output is more powerful. Maybe I can tell just a tiny better resolution on Balanced but it can be expectation bias, anyway, nothing mayor.

Did a really quick comparison with Shanling M3S using ibasso IT01 with CB12 cable and the same music files. I feel the X20 has more power output but the X3S has slightly more air on top. The tonality it's very very close between this two DAPs. I try to volume match by ear (yes, I know it's not a good way to do it); M3S at 30 and X20 at 24 on low gain.
