Welcome! DT990s are a solid pair of headphones that take amplification exceptionally well. But you're right, this can be a dangerous hobby for one's wallet. However, it's all in service of one of life's great pleasures: music!

The DT990s taught me all about sibilance I ended up returning them. But you're right about the music, I've rediscovered my love for it! Which is something I haven't done since my teenage years.
