So maybe I'm coming at this backwards? but, I spent some $ buying these.
I'm new to the addiction, but wanted to get a good taste up front before diving into kilobuck+ IEM's.
What I've purchased along with my grade/although this is going to change as I listen more in light of what I describe below.

Dunu SA6 MII B+

THIE Audio Hype 2 C+

Tanchjim Origin A+

Moondrop Beautiful World A

Moondrop Variations A

I purchased a Lotoo Paw S2 so I could listen to these on my iPhone 15 and pulled out the accessories and looked at the C2C cord and thought, all the data that goes into my ears goes through that little cheap wire. ( I've since decided to add several DAC's to my collection but they are not in house yet.)

I listed to each of my IEM purchases for hours and at times was brought to tears, then at others found no joy. This process went back a forth with all of the IEM's.

Then I started adding data pass through upgrades, cables and C2C upgraded connectors and WOW it clicked, everything sounded better from every single IEM.

Everything has to pass through this cheap C2C to get to my IEM and it doesn't make sense to spend all this money when the data/fidelity bottleneck is coming from the first transfer so I purchased a C2C ddHiFi TC07S cable.

Then I started thinking about cables. Most of what comes with IEM's in the $ range I'm buying is ample but not impressive. So, I read some reviews on this forum and decided to buy the Penon Audio Pyramid.

Bringing all the part together as described above elevated the experience so much that it makes me question if what I'm purchasing, as in another set of IEM's, matters unless I have the best connections to go along with the IEM. Also makes me want to analyze if some of the high end IEM's (crazy$$$) are getting performance from the accessories as much as the tech in the IEM

I find this forum very interesting for a lot of reasons. I've listed to music for the majority of my life for most likely the majority of hours in my days. So 10's of thousands of hours, and I also played two instruments in orchestra. Point being, I appreciate the sounds of well represented information as it interacts with my tympanic membrane and then off to my brain for recognition and registration as an infinite orchestra of sounds.
.

Off to more listening!

Hi to all head-fiers ! I have learned a lot of things reading your advises ;-)
Classical music is my passion and High Fidelity my main hobby since 30 years. Since 5 years, due to lack of space in my new appartment, I have choosen to listen music only with headphones. At the beginning, it was quite disturbing... but now it would be impossible for me to go backwards ;-)
Apologize me for my bad english writing...

Best regards,
Laurent

Hello! I'm from Taiwan.
I came to Head-Fi because I own a Burson headphone amplifier.
I have some questions that I can't answer.
Burson Audio’s customer service also didn’t give me the correct answer.
There are not many players using Burson in Taiwan.
There are Hi-End players from all over the world in Head-Fi.
Hope my little question can be answered.
Head-Fi has a huge amount of information!!!
It is still difficult for me to digest this information.
Hope to gain more knowledge at Head-Fi.
There are also opportunities to share your own experiences.

my English is not well.
I have to partially use translation software to write the text.
Please forgive me if I accidentally used the wrong word.

Howdy, I'm gordownage and I'm a bit of a music and computer nerd. By day, I'm a computer engineer and at night I'd like to imagine that I'm a classical concert pianist.

In 2017, I bought a pair of HD6XX from [Mass]drop and a Mayflower O2 DAC/AMP after many years of having a cheap desktop speaker. Life got busy and I didn't really have time to sit down and listen and that set up was just good enough. My earpads 6XX started wearing out and I bought a new pads and went down the rabbit hole from there. Since I love tweaking and building SFFPCs, something bugged me about my current setup and after doing more research I pulled the trigger on the HD800S and RME ADI2 DAC.

I listened to some of my favorite live video recordings and I love hearing all the detail of piano and orchestra, but the miscellaneous sounds such as the pianist moving his bench, audience coughing, conductor humming, etc. makes the experience much more enjoyable! I am more of an analytical listener as I not only listen to other recordings, but listen to my own recordings too.

I love the soundstage of the HD800S and since I love tweaking and optimizing, I am thinking maybe the next step is to try out a tube amp and attend the CanJam Socal 2024. I've got a lot of good information from this forum and am looking forward to being in this community!

Hi, my name is Andy and I am a music addict lol I have been reading reviews here and have decided to join. My first decent cans are the Grado SR125 which I bought back in 2006. From there I have started accumulating different cans and IEMs.
Being addicted to music is no issue though :P
