yeah nishan haha I feel ya... the ones that look perfect are wayy to expensive.. I have also been thinking of just getting an OK pair for around 50 bucks and be done with it... but gosh darn it I don't want to waste money when something better exists out there... Nishan, what are you gonna be using your headphones for? just music?

just get the K518 LE, the bass is not boomy, its fast and fairly tight.

Depends on your reference. I'm no basshead, so I find K518 VERY boomy.

im no basshead either, but the bass is good on the K518. Not boomy nor flabby. If you take the foam inserts out like me the bass is very nice and not muddy like when they are in.

Hehe. Toxos is really an indecisive person. I believe you should set some priorities to get the right headphones. Thats because over the ear headphones can split in several needs unlike iems which they have isolation and comfort almost for granted.

I am a very indecisive person when it comes to purchases... only purchase I did not hesitate was my PC LOL but if I was to wear over the ear, do you have any recommendations that would fit my needs? again, its many types of music from classical to metal and perhaps good soundstage for gaming, some sort of portability would be nice, and some isolation would be great as well.

Otherwise, so far I am stuck between the akg 518 and the 81 and the CAL! or maybe even sennheiser 555 (I know, somewhat big.. but they look decent and have good reviews and still under 100)

the HD555 and HD238 are open, and dont isolate. Ive had the 238 and loved the sound and comfort, but was let down 2 times by the build quality. I looked after them well but the jack broke twice, and at that time i didnt know about putting a new jack on/recabling. They are great headphones but beware of the weak headphone jack.

i realized that I might be a bit too constricting on headphones.... so I may allow IE if they are able to stay in my ear. I used the Skull candy INK'D and they stayed in well for the first week or so... then they kept falling out. I also used some Merkury black ones (great sound imo) but they also kept falling out... usually only the left one too lol. I have heard they are supposed to sound much better, have better isolation and such so I am now sorta open to those suggestions if you guys have any. I am really just getting desperate haha

yeah I am now looking more into the Ultrasone dj1 s-logic, looks big but I will also be looking into their entire line. guess this is sort of a BUMP cuz I am still sorta stuck.. the hd25-1 ii seem perfect except for the small soundstage.. so at least I am getting closer :)
