New DENON "Music Maniac" & "Urban Raver" Lines: D7100, D600, D400 & C300 Impressions Thread

Hey,

I'm looking to purchase either the D600s or D2000s. I'm getting a little put off about the D600s with the posts from here.

How would you compare the two? Are the D600s a step up in quality? Which headphone has more bass?
And of course, the most important thing is am I going to get ripped off if I purchase a pair now only to find out it was drastically lowered in price later on?

Thanks!

I think they trying to compete with D5000. I had D5000 3 months ago so can't comment if D600 bass is as deep as D5000 but if you not basshead you should be fine. About buying it depends  how patient you are while waiting until next 20% off sale because nobody knows when regular street price gets lowered

I am a slight basshead :p
So you are saying the D600s don't have much bass?

What I'm saying I can't say if D600's sub-bass is as deep as D5000 or just around D7000. For me D600 have just exactly enough bass so when I will compare them to M100/Mad Dogs/MDR-1R they will be minimum required plus I need quality not just quantity

I can only purchase the D2000s and not the D5000s or 7000s, those are unavailable or out of range.

Which can (D600 or D2000) would you say is superior to the other? What are their signatures like as well?

"exactly enough"? They are the most bass-heavy hi-fi headphones I've ever heard :p

Let me first say that I'm no audiophile by a longshot, but I have the option of getting the new D600 at a reduced price (€400) at my local HiFi store as they have them on sale.

My current cans are a very old pair of Denon AH-D750 which I like very much. So much so that they have more or less become the reference headphone for me. Closed back with a very broad frequency range and a solid (strong?) bass.

I'm going to use my new headphones at work listening to (mostly) Spotify through a FiiO E10, so the question begs if the D600 are overkill (considering the quality of the source)?

I'm also asking because the D600 is just outside my budget range, even on sale.

But would I be better of getting the AKG K550 or Audio-Technica ATH M50 ?

Had a chance to try D7100, D600 and D400 today at my local store. Liked the sound of D7100 and D600 but I also find the former is overpriced, so considering selling my K702 to afford the latter. D400 was a disaster given the price
