Yeah pad rolling on the T1 and T5 is tricky due to the steep angled drivers. Most people seem to keep the stock pads on the T1’s and T5’s based on my observations. They usually need to have a similar shape and design to work ideally imho.
Aftermarket pads worked fine on the Amiron Home/DT 1990, etc. but I did not like them on the T1.2 or T1.3. The difference between the T1.2 and T1.3 pads for instance is the foam inside mostly creating a different sound that didn’t mess-up their imaging, etc. The DT 1990 Balanced pads will also likely work but haven’t tried them. DT 1990 Analytical pads may work but they have much softer foam and different rear venting. Same with the Amiron Hone pads having different shape and rear-venting. They may work but maybe not as well. The DT 880/990 Black edition pads may work too as those pads are T1-like in design/foam stiffness unlike normal DT 880/990 pads.
