Its amp made by majkel, called Black Pearl. Definetely one of the best buy ever - strongly recommended. Its that small box right side of pic (in the middle is power supply). Matrix M Stage is absolutely destroyed in every aspect and its not slight difference:

The bass is there, it's just not obvious and upfront, which is the way it should be. The holes in the response elsewhere are much more obvious, which can thin out female and backing vocals, making them rather skeletal. But music is fun, clear and open, with a nice sense of subtle power. You could do much worse.

What holes in the response?  The FR graph looks completely even.  Graphs aren't the be all end all though...

anybody using a portable amp for the DT1350?

I'm using my Practical Devices XM6.  I don't really think it needs the power, but I use it with everything for the crossfeed.  I've been to lazy to do A/B comparisons without the crossfeed but I haven't noticed really noticed any major differences I wouldn't attribute to it.

That naked item is DAC on PCM1796 with tube output in future. Black Pearl isnt for portable use even its 3 times smaller than Matrix (excluding huge PSU:)). Although Im so much impressed by that little thing which also gives second life to DT1350. Its much more balanced in every aspects right now -mids arent such in front which allow bass to shine. So far RS1 advantage is only in airness which is rather obvious for its construction. Even that magic mids of Grado arent big advantage right now.
Talking about powering DT1350...well Matrix makes them play, Sony S544 makes them play and they play very good. But just pluggin them to Black Pearl shows all of the advnatages of Tesla drivers and that little Beyerdynamics generally. Extraordinary

RS1 may loose its advantage as you continue to use your DT1350.  =]

I use them out of my E11 on the go and to be honest even at home.

I think the little Beyer likes near 0 Ohms since it's not sounding that good out of my hybrid (68 Ohm). Maybe I'll do some A/Bs out of my iPod to verify that.

Do u advice to buy E11 to pair with Beyer dt1350 and an ipod?
How is the sound with this combo?

I think the E11 is sufficient, no more and nothing less. Since it's my first and only portable amp I can't compare it. But if you already have an amp I don't think you'll need to get the E11.

It's sound is fine but I wouldn't describe it as warm at least not with the 1350. But it's really powerful and I can drive my 300 Ohm cans with ease, that's why I bought the E11. But after the post on Headfonia I'll maybe build a Mini3 myself.
