109 dB is not extremely sensitive though, so it might be a struggle.

This is pretty sensitive and poses a problem only to players designed for use in Europe. European law calls for limited output power to avoid hearing damage and loss. Apple follows this line strictly, which renders the otherwise great iPhone 4 pretty much useless for serious listening. Maximum output with the DT-1350 ist just ok in normal environments and might be too low in a plane. No headroom there. But: Devices made for other markets provide more than enough power to the DT-1350, as do those that have a region setting (like the sansas, which I use for travel).

Hey where are you guys buying these? I see them at bh Photo video and front end audio. But they are out of stock at bh photo video. Is front end legit? Any other places I should look?

Only one solution.  Buy both.  You'll be twice as happy that way...

I have been saving up for some AKG K701's and now that these are out they are making me second guess myself. Damn you Beyer!

Borrowed a pair of AKG 701 and Dark Voice for a little fun and as a reference point with the 1350s. Obviously these two phones are not even in the same zip code but should be interesting none the less.

Has anybody tried out the DT 1350s with a HiFiMan 801 DAP. I am interested to know how they sound paired with the "analogue" sound of the 801 direct from the headphone out........

Tyll's got some measurements for these up at his new website.  The numbers look a lot better than the T50p.  The 1350s are better all around, FR, distortion, square waves, even isolation.  As someone who was unimpressed with the T50p, color me officially interested.

It is actually almost shoking to see how different the measurments for those 2 headphones are, while based on the same drivers/design. The T50p really look like to me as a marketing toy.
