Again, I know in the states it's a lot more but regardless, both can be used as portable cans so why the hell not compare the sound of the two? If some people are willing to pay tenfold for portable headphones, why should price be the only obstacle in making a judgement on two good headphones which are eligible for outdoor use? Both are closed back, it's more than justifiable a comparison.

They're in the same price bracket (also in the US: DT1350 = $299 at B&H and Z1000 = $339 at Matter of FAX ) and they're built and voiced with the same general purpose (studio monitor), so, I think it would be an interesting comparison.

I just had a chance to listen to the DT-1350 today and I am very impressed. I used to have the T50p before so I have been looking for the DT-1350. As others have mentioned it has less bass but a more neutral balanced sound. Very high resolution and forward mids - I really like them. Also the leather pads are flatter which makes the isolation even better than the T50p. The split  headband is great too. These are on my wishlist - that's for sure!

The way you wear it is about 50%, 70% at best!

i normally dont wear them like this. if was just for the pic that i did. the top pert of my ear is normally always showing when i wear them.

Depends on the iPod and the fact which SQ do you want..An amp (HP out) will amplifiy your signal. You can hear louder but not better..(My opinion, I dont want to recommend sth because I dont use it and then it is forbidden to recommend )

Their sensitivity is 109 dB/mw, so yes, they will be fine but should improve a bit more with a really good amp.
To run headphones straight out of an ipod, you want its sensitivity to be 98 or greater and impedance preferably between 16 and 40-50 at most.
Less than 98 sensitivity is demanding an amp and greater than 106 will probably start hissing a bit.  I imagine 1350 will not hiss because of its impedance, however.

The 80 Ohm impedance has no direct relation to this, the109 dB sensitivity is a better indicator. 109 dB is not extremely sensitive though, so it might be a struggle.

True, but it is a part of the equation nevertheless.  The higher the impedance, the less power they get from the player.
109 SPL is very good sensitivity.

Thats true.. !! .. I just have in mind my DT880 and T1 with 600 Ohm (Beside the fact of a DAP) I really need a high high output power amp for the DT880s.
 
But so far the first step is done--to drive them (DigitalFreaks question)
 
btw: high and low impedance is also a deciding factor IMO
