I found my Oscilloquartz 8663-xs OCXO (-90dB 1hz) and for the first time connected to the mk2 DAC. Very interesting. I’ll leave it in for a day or two. Not bad sound but no doubt the Mutec Ref 10 (-116dB) brings out the best the 7RHE MK2 is capable of delivering. I hope all 10M capable R7s benefit in the same way with a great clock. -90dB is rock bottom but you could argue Oscilloquartz vs Accusilicon as to which you prefer.

I would think the Morion mv89a may be a clear upgrade especially over the internal Accusilicons. The mv89a spec at -105dB is half way between the -90 and -120. Be warned it is a gateway addiction!

I just received an Uptone ER today and could manage to find the time to install it in front of the USBridge …Woaowwww .… what an upgrade !!!

Have only it running for 2h, but the overall tonal balance has improved a lot….and I’m measuring my words….tighter bass, more micro details and an even more analog overall sound signature… I’m really impressed

I had the same experience, but saw an even greater improvement w/ an LPS and the Afterdark clock (w/ a good 75ohm BNC cable - I use an Oyaide) - After Dark have a version specifically for the Ether-regen. The model is the Queen SQ Wave Ether-Regen SE (in either a 50ohm or 75ohm version depending on your model of Ether-regen).

Well, I prefer the Oscilloquartz 8663-xs vs internal Accusilicons on my DI-20. It's not a night and day difference, but totally worthwile.

I was thinking just the same about specs and I will try the Morion MV89A to see how much better it can get.

Which 50 and 75 ohm BNC cables (under $50 each) do you guys recomend? Oyaide? Where can I buy them?

For 75 Ohm BNC cable look at Mogami 2964 based cables, these are very often used in professional recording studios…

For 50 Ohm, I’m still struggling to find a good compromise, as most cable are based on the RG58 coax cable standard (very often cheap quality and quite difficult to find good ones) and some are using the better RG400 based ones, but I never tested this latter ones.

Thank you. Any idea where to buy them from as Ebay doesn't seem reliable.

I was using RG400 which recommended by some early posts in this thread. But now since I am relying on the internal clock of DI-20, so I cannot give out comments on it.

The 10Mhz clock needs a signal cable which fits the industrial standard more than a hand-make thing.

Update: So, the cables made automatically by a machine in a factory or lab, should be more close to an industrial standard.

I bought all mine (all 50-ohm) from ebay, some can’t handle over 2vpp, so check the specs

Rg402: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/274550144511

Rg-223: (not same vendor but same description): https://www.ebay.ca/itm/153545138860

Rg-400: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/254321046918?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

And i got this one from Arfterdark (the red one, although it’s blue in the presentation page), this is their best, and also mine, not by miles. Their measure them to confirm quality and use the best available plugs( they are indeed beefier).

a few recommendations:

https://www.adark.co/collections/pr...project-clayx-giesemann-bnc-50ohm-clock-cable (Swiss Made) -- I use this one.
https://www.adark.co/collections/pr...layx-black-river-carbon-fiber-woven-xlr-cable (Made in HK) -- TOTL from After Dark
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/393101732628?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2648 (Made in Japan) -- I use this one.
https://tchernovcable.com/en/products/digital-interconnect-cables/ (Made in Russia) -- I have a few of their cables (not BNC) and they perform excellently.
