You need a minimum loss matching pad to connect 75<-->50 ohm. They aren't perfect as you will get a loss of 5.7dB across the pad which is 4x less power on its output. Plus limiting bandwidth and small amount of standing waves. But is better than connecting the mismatch directly.

Something like this...

Yes, I share the same opinion that every item in the signal path affects it, eventhough Adrian from Afterdark told me it won't.

So, if a cheap clock, plus a cheap LP, plus a cheap BNC cable, plus the impedance adapter betters the sound of the ER, a good master clock with double output with different impedance will be a bliss!!

The highest rated AfterDark Gleisemann Eva 10M clock (3 outputs/ -121dB) has gone up in price several times during the past few months. Now $30,000 hk$. Last week it was $28,800 hk$.

Everything else is going up in price as well. Sign of the times.

Has anyone of you tried the Gustard C16 clock? I can´t find reviews on Internet.

It cost half the price of Afterdark clock, both having three outputs, and according ShenZhenAudio is has phase noise of -100@1hz, and -120@10hz.

Anyway, speaking of the Eva, it made me realize how much info on a 44/16 record you are missing on because of compromised timing. The r7he mkii/Eva/di20he brings my setup to a level i did not think possible. And the Nimak usb, acss and power cables are part of this too.

I rarely, if ever, heard such perfect sound before. Whatever the price. It's very real. Perfectly analog. Totally cohesive and comprehensible, yet musically expressive. Just like the real thing. I am sad because i like tweaking. I am pretty much done for a long while. Maybe i will get another nimak x18 cable, next year.

Now i am checking for a used tuner. That's it.

The external clock on the DAC is worth the upgrade. I was a skeptic last year. How can it be better than a crystal? Definitely takes your system to the next level. No doubt about it.

Kingwa should patent his external clock method. And get more products with10M capability plus build an affordable 10M clock platform. Upgradeable clock platform….

Is 10M here to stay? I’m not sure but it sounds much smoother than TCXOs. Fred is 100% on his comments. For the budget minded the Morion MV89a at -105db 1hz is best deal out there.

I have changed my power-cable by the Audio-GD Powercable : It seems a little better. I have the R-7HE21. Why a powercable would have an influence since there is a regenerative power supply ? Is it cognitive bias and in fact the new power cable isn't really needed ?

Regenerarion helps a lot but does not remove 100% of the noise. A good power cable does 4 things. First, it helps the primary power supply in allowing a better current flow. Second, it can in some cases filter out some noise. Third, it self-generate less noise. Fourth, it prevents some noise from entering.

If you live in a house and can add dedicated AC lines to feed you setup, you would also get an upgrade. It is suggested to use the biggest possible gauge. This helps a lot actually. I will do it eventually. This not onlly allows better current flow but also permit a better isolation from noisy electrical devices in the house.
