I'm torn. My A90D is out for repair which will take up to another 8 weeks, as such I have nothing to power my headphones. I've always been interested in the GS-X Mini and I found a local dealer who has offered me an open box with 3 months warranty for $1340 in Satin Blue with DACT Attenuator. Do I pull the trigger or possibly wait until the CFA3 comes out?

Depends on your budget. Rumor has it the CFA3 was going to be around $4000, but part costs are driving it up closer to $5000. Also, I don't know if the CFA3 will be ready before your other amp comes back.

You don't need CFA3 for 800S. What else are you trying to drive?

Yup, I've realised it is a good price. I'm still thinking things over. If the price is going to be $4000+ as rumoured, this will be a lot more palatable.

You don't need CFA3 for 800S. What else are you trying to drive?

I've got HD800S, Edition XS, HD600, HD650. I am looking to get some HE1000's though. Ideally I would like a buy it and forget it amp that will last me for many years to come. I'm getting married next year and I'm sure I won't have the freedom to make large purchases like this as priorities will start to shift.

CFA3 will not disappoint in that case. However, if I were you I would get a better dac and gsx mk2, instead of spending all your budget on CFA3.
