nice detailed review of A8..
my summary of A8 is very great iem that reaching near TOTL level iems, too bad the bass section which is 1 of my concerns isn't doing very well here.
@redrol also he sometimes missing the sub bass from Kanas Pro. Hopefully Moondrop will come with new Flagship that retain all pros from A8 with better bass ever. That will be a solid iem with high value.

The a8 sounds so good I'm willing to forgive a little bass slam. It's that good. The bass is not lacking though. It's fantastic. I'm comparing directly to the best of the best which I consider the Sony 800st and the Sony XBA Z5.

How is the bass texture and extension compared to 800st? I got ex1000 so it will be more or less the same

Texture is spot on, extension if you mean deepness is easily down to 20-30hz. The resolution is just incredible in the low end. I can say it's not a basshead tuning so you better be adding some eq and laying some power down if that is the sound you like. The A8 can take serious power. Out of the box it sounds sweet and perfect with nice subbass and no midbass boost/bloom.
Still, the 16mm driver in the Sonys is absolutely unmatched imo.
As far as that guys review, 'treble needs to be relaxed and extended'? NO that is exactly typical chifi tuning. Not moondrop, not going to happen. His going on and on about the bass is totally perplexing. My a8s SLAM for a BA set. I've heard nothing better!
The A8 is not about a super excited tuning, its about sweetness and balance. Everything is as it should be. Would I up the bass on the A8? MMM.. no. That would ruin the yin/yang. I can add bass as I see fit with eq. Even then I barely add any if I feel like it.

Well described buddy. Thanks a lot. I know the A8 is about overall in big picture, the balance. Im not a basshead either, but i like nice, fast, textured bass.

Add some 30 and 55hz maybe 2 to 5 db. And wow. They totally slam. I'm listening to them right now. Extremely satisfying. The mids and treble stay exactly the same either way.Well described buddy. I'm thinking to buy A8 and pair ir with Linsoul LSC09 cable to 2.5mm balance output of Hiby R3. Will that be a good combo? I short on cash to buy better cable nor DAP. I'm open to cable suggestions as long as the cable is $100usd and below.

i think Kanas will be my next purchase, the basshead in me is coming out, i had the Pro version and with bass EQ it was brutal in the low end, amazing response to EQ, the best from everything that i tried before, the regular Kanas will have more bass by default, no more neutral earphones for me, i have enough, it is time to have some fun
The review of @paulindss sold me on the regular Kanas
