My very brief notes on the PM-1 say "
More refined and slightly ‘larger’ sound than the PM-2 but still not “real to life’. lacking some treble extension and needs “ears adjustment” switching form real life to headphones.
Beautifully built though and lovely cable"
By 'ears adjustment' I mean, I was after a frequency response that was very true to life. I never wanted to put headphones on and immediately think, less treble, exaggerated mids. With the 1060 and the LCD-2, that's what I got.
To a large extent, I also got that with the Elears and the Shure 1540s, but personally I like some bass extension which is where those two fell little short for me. Don't get me wrong, they're really good at what they do, but just roll off at the bottom a bit too soon for me.
Some people are sensitive to treble as well or might want a relaxed listening session, so the PM-2 or PM-1 might be ideal. Certainly comfortable and extremely well made, subjectively.
i own pm1 so are you saying the 1060 is better than pm1
