Anyone know anything about these? They look like a Hifiman interbred with an Audeze!

Due at the end of October from what I can gather. They're also launching a $199 planar headphone, the M560, which doesn't look quite so interesting:

Nice!

$299 for an over-ear open-back planar headphone is a really good price.  The M1060 doesn't share any identical specs with any HiFiMAN headphone, so its probably not a clone of one of HiFiAMN's existing headphones.

It will be interesting to see how it competes with the HE400S (which I'm not a fan of) and the HD400i (which I am a fan of).

Whoops! I did not see this thread and made one.

They also released a planar that is 199 USD.

The Monolith M560

Apparently, it has both an open-back and closed-back design configuration.

The 560 looks somewhat unique (and a bit ugly). The 1060 is more intriguing IMO because it has strong resemblances to both Hifiman and Audeze designs, which makes one wonder if either of those companies is involved in some way or if Monoprice is just riffing off their designs. Come to think of it, the 560 cups do kinda resemble the Audeze EL-8, which is also available in open and closed versions.

I wonder if Monoprice will release a DAC cable for either to cash in on the iCrowd?

The M560 to me looks like a combination of the Beats Mixr's and the R70X. The wood is a little strange on the sleek design and black and silver colors though.

Is the M560 really going to be better than the cheaper TXRP MK3 variants though?  Those look like on-ears.  I am interested in how they perform though (and the m1060 too if it really does become a giant killer).
