Modding the Kanen km-880 woodie

Fixed. :)

So, yes, the JVC drivers are much better than the original eMatic drives.

But since the JVC x570 is also a very cheap HP, I can only imagine that spending a bit more can make a bit difference.  Anyone would suggest a good pair of drivers around $40 or $50?

Did you read earlier in this thread where i linked to the mdr-v6 drivers for $20 each? Are they not 40mm?

another idea...

enter mdr in the prefix, driver for description, click on search. LOTS of results. MDR-v6/7506 (40mm) drivers are $20 each.

20$ each driver? isnt that too much, 40$  for a 70$ 'phone?
anyway, https://www.koss.com sells all ear cushions for their models at 5$ and free shipping in the US.
I ordered 1 of Koss MV1 but bow that i think of it ... it didnt said it was 1 pair

EDIT:contacted them, its 5$ the pair and 2 pair for the portapros and alikes.

I dunno, it's kind of counter-intuitive IMO. Walfredo asked for $40-50 drivers though, and I delivered :p

FWIW, Check the previous page in this thread....

Sennheiser has HD 25-SP II drivers for $35 each. Not sure if they're 40mm though. EH2200, and EH2270 are only $10 and $12 each for the drivers, mounted in earcups.

Thanks for the suggestions on the drivers, guys.

James, would the koss mv1 pads fit the ematic/kanen?  They look pretty good!

lol what am I gonna do with a pair of the MV1 pads now?

I'm gonna use a sony XD200 40mm driver and try to make the woodies single side cable, hopefully detachable. but yet i have no idea what to do with the pads and the headband, suggestions are welcome.

So, the Kanen pads are 70mm.  This is some 70mm on ebay for $7 which look okay.

I wonder if there is a way to find out the size of the Koss pads.  Some of them look very cool.

and agreed on the koss pads and they are also cheap, 5$ the pair, ill read further but i think the best way to find out is to ask around here to koss owners, i have the QZ99 but the pads are oval shaped.
