Meze EMPYREAN - the First Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone

The Empyreans are sounding better after 150+ hrs of use. Older jazz recordings that sounded somewhat flat before now sound more dynamic and lifelike w/ improved midrange for vocals and sax.

In terms of amps they sound fantastic w/ the DAVE/Blu2 and the real surprise was how good they sound w/ an old Trafomatic Head One which uses 6C45P output tubes.

Any comparisons with Abyss Phi through DAVE/Blu2?

To bad I can't read that good in Polish lol
Hmmm...Google Translate seemed to do a pretty good job, ignoring the typical awkward phrasing combined with the occasional nonsensical bits:
Do you want real music? - buy Meze Empyrean. But if you're looking for something peculiar, look for something else. There is a kind of uplift in this: the music itself is a stimulant, but it can be overclocked. Especially when we can not afford a real drug. Then you can smell the glue, for example, naked, painted in stripes.
Overall, a bit of a mixed review. Reviewer likes them, but thinks they are 'abnormal' and questions the overall value proposition.

I did, it was rather confusing. They praised it and then I don't know what happened lol.

Yes, but I moved from there when I was 5 years old lol.

I didn't speak fluent Polish even at 5 years old, so you're way ahead of me...

You probably know this, but you can easily translate that webpage or any other by using Google's Chrome browser and checking settings to enable Google translator. The results are a little rocky sometimes (especially on Chinese & Japanese, for some reason), but are usually more than good enough to figure out what the writer is saying.

Speaking of languages, I find myself somewhat more interested in Romanian, for some reason...

Usually got a message up top to translate, I had to copy everything and then translate it. It worked, eventually lol.

I PMed the UK Dealer SCV and got the following reply(on 20th November)

"Hi,
Initial stock and demo units have gone to...

HiFi Headphones (South coast)
Audio Sanctuary (South London)
HiFi Lounge/Highend Headphones (Bedford)

I got mine from Paul at HiFiLounge.I don't think there are any more available until next year!
I spoke to Roger from nintronics today and he thinks my headphones will be with me next week sometime, I need some good news.
Dad passed away a year last 7 th of December. He use to always come with me when I listened to stuff at the Hifi shop, miss him loads he would love to hear the gear I'm getting.
He bought my first true hi-fi, Linn lp12 sondek ittok arm and k18 cartridge with Naim nac 72 pre amp and nap140 power amp with Linn Kan speakers

I've now had my Empyrean for a couple of weeks. It's well worn in, and ready for a comprehensive review. I'll write it up over the weekend. I'll give you the TLDR; First thought something was wrong with them when I first unpacked them and plugged them in. A week later, they were a great addition to my collection. 300 hrs later, they are in my top 3 headphones.

What made you think there was something wrong with them at first? Weird sound signature?

Probably because they are warmer without the peaky treble, most flagships aim towards a much brighter and clinical sound which can be really impressive on quick listen but its the headphones like Empyrean that let you listen for hours with a smooth and rich sound.

To have had a dad whom actually cared about a hobby you dearly love is a total blessing.

and what are the other 2 in the top 3 ?

Focal Utopia & LCD4. Edged out my SR-009's, although if my music tastes weren't so eclectic, the SR-009's would still win for Jazz, Classical, or any song with high music articulation ( staccato, staccatissimo, marcato, détaché, rinforzando, slur, sforzando, etc...)
