MEZE AUDIO ELITE - The New Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone - official thread

I also had the Stellia and while they did some things nicely, they just aren't at the level of Elite. The fullness in the body, the richness in the midrange and overall coherency top to bottom of the Elite is astonishing, IMO. It's the complete package for me.
Yeah. Elites are worthy Susvara partners. Maybe someone who references the Susvara is kinda ruined for most other headphones because of higher standards and high SQ expectations but I will happily split my listening time between Susvara and Elites.

I don’t like the metallic Stellia sound. Some instruments sound like utensils.

In a week or two, I will share my comparison of a few high-end aftermarket cables (Lavricables Grand, Forza Noir, Forza Noir Hybrid, Meze upgrade, Arctic Cables) for Elite. I recently had a lot of cables and decided to re-terminate them all for Elites to pick one cable and stop thinking about it, finally
If you are patient, then wait for my post :D

You are talking to a group of audiophiles... patience comes down very low on our list of virtues :).

As you appear to be a Member of the Trade, will your own cables be part of this comparison?
Or maybe these are reference points for designing your own cables?

Maybe in the future :D It seems to be some issue that I got this badge recently that I'm trying to clarify

I had the Susvara. I gladly kept my Elite and sold the Susvara.

I combine both and use a big fat pure silver cable - Norne Silvergarde S4 8-wire

Some reviewers seem to have a personal vendetta against Meze or are simply deaf.

Empyrean and Elite Reviews made me stop taking a lot of channels serious

Yep. But in all seriousness it's messed up as it makes Meze products seem like they're overpriced when they are not at all, especially given how they are literally the best built headphones on the market (at least in their price brackets). That's why I was so hesitant to give them a fair chance for so long. Meze must have pissed some of these people off or something lol.

I've listed it just recently in the 109 thread, how Meze headphones are actually priced below the majority of their competition (in Europe)

Luckily most of the printed/written reviews give a more realistic presentation of their actual performance.

Not liking a headphone for specific reasons is ok, however most of the negative reviews just give objectively false information here, which made me quit watching their channels alltogether.

Well said. After purchasing and listening to my Elites, I was listening to music and shaking my head at the same time. Shaking my head in confusion as to what the hell these people were talking about. In a way, acquiring the Elite was a win-win because not only did I get an outstanding headphone but I no longer have to waste my time watching videos and can concentrate on other things.

LOL same here. This may be the first time I've literally been bumping my head to music constantly in pure enjoyment in years . I think part of it too is just biases a lot of these reviewers have when it comes to audio. For whatever reason if a headphone doesn't try to force details in your face or aren't tuned a particular way, they don't like it.

TBH I started to take a couple reviewers less serious when they dropped their impressions/reviews of the Meze 109 pros... but that's an entirely different topic in itself.

I think there is a little hard-core subset of [audiophiles] who are extremely equipment-centric. These are so rabidly focussed on details above all else such that other technical aspects become totally secondary in importance. Anyway for the plebs (me LOL) a beautiful euphonic presentation, staging, timber, airiness, bass cleanliness, comfort, build quality, and basically just sheer enjoyment experientially are what matters. I put thousands of hours on my gear so all the above matters a lot. Analyze the chain or become absorbed in the music. Choice is good.

While I don't watch reviews for the subjective opinion, I do watch them because as an enthusiast I love the eye candy of sexy headphone gear.

you mean like the limited chameleon edition? :p
YES! The Chameleon is straight up headphone pornography.

Tube amplifiers, headphones, cables etc. I love drooling over it all.

I've had an amazing time with the Elites and they very quickly made it on my favorite list, but the time has come for a change. I am getting a pretty good result with the new Utopia and liking what I'm hearing. I have listed my Meze Elites on the classifies if anyone is interested. I'm the first owner and they're in immaculate condition. Please see the link to the listing in my signature, if interested.

Please let us know the differences between these 2 cans or a link to the Utopia thread where you are reporting about it
