I use Brainwavz Sheepskin. Some people don't like them, I love the comfort and the sound changes

Guys, we're thrilled to share with you the latest interview that Antonio Meze gave to PP Bizness, the tireless journalist that covered Sound Days Paris 2018.
The video was uploaded to our YouTube channel and covers a good amount of Meze Audio's past and present audio projects, from 99 Classics to Meze Empyrean flagship headphone.

I'm not at all, balanced connection trasforms my FIIO Q1 in a such a dramatic way, I was thinking of change it because it don't match well the sound of the meze with boomy bass and poor detail. With balanced it's a whole different story. The bass tightens up mids are going forward, presentation is now much "in your face".
I think that for everyone has this DAC balanced is a must, Now is the best source I have!

To be clear, I don't think that the cable only make all this difference, instead is the DAC works much better with balance
My Meze balanced cable just arrived and I could not agree more. There are some devices that benefit immensely

from a balanced connection. Significant improvement.

Guys, as you already spotted, we have a new "baby" in the house — the 99 series 2.5mm balanced cable designed especially for the 99 Classics and 99 Neo headphones.

It is made of high-quality Silver Plated OFC cable, coated with soft transparent thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and the audio quality is something we're proud of. Mostly because they give a serious boost to your listening experience, all at a much affordable price.

And they are compatible with 2.5mm balanced out for the DAP's made by Astell and Kern, Fiio, Onkyo, Cayin, Questyle, iBasso and other devices.

Also, as a thank you for the support you have shown us along the way, we're offering you head-fiers 20% off of the regular price of the 2.5mm balanced cable when using the HEADFI2.5 discount code at checkout on www.mezeaudio.com or www.mezeaudio.eu.

Cheers!

Raf, are you using a 2.5 female to 2.5 male adapter just to have a right angle?
No, this is the IEMatch 2.5 from ifi audio. I had both IEMatch and IEMatch 2.5 sent to me for reviews (that did not write yet).

The IEMatch is amazing supplement to Meze classics 12 and es100. Because that was the only combination I did not like for long listening periods when I used es100 or phone directly AND very poor internet radio source( 128k).
IEMatch fixed that.

And IEMatch 2.5 can be used with es100 and Meze headphones with balanced cable. This is because Meze are very sensitive so IEMatches make sence. You can use 2x output and crank the volume. It is a good refinement. Does not make sence to use IEMatch and iematch 2.5 with es100 and an insensitive headphone like 4xx. There is not enough power.

In general, Meze sound quality get a refinement and extra smoothness with iematch (es). The right angle is coming as a bonus...:)

And just to make myself clear classics 12 in combination with xDSD, even with low bitrate sources from TuneIn, sounds amazing even for long listening periods. It sounds like a proper headphone, and a lot better than any other of my budget headphones.

Also, Meze 12 sounds very good with my portable tube hybrid amplifier regardless the source. It is sometimes that the synergy is not quite right there and a tweak like that can provide a dramatic improvement.

Also Neo and xDSD is an amazing combination.

I am reviewing currently the Burson audio opamp installed in my tube hybrid amplifier and I intend also to review the associated Meze synergy.

All in all, for a proper closed headphone Meze is my endgame.

Seems like a great entry price. It's a shame that it doesn't include a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter plug like your other two cables. How will this new cable compare to the 7N CC Copper Cable @ $149?

Thanks

I've got one inbound. I'll give some quality head-time on both the 99 classic and Neo before I post my take. Really looking forward to it.

I've used the 99C and the ES100 a lot, I've never had an issue with the sound at all. the iEMatch seems pointless, at least for me I guess
