Low end. Cheap. Generic. Otherwise bang for buck cable thread!

I saw Ali customers review, that wrote the cable has 0.6 ohm impedance. Does the cable give more bass?
You can find my GCT5 measurements if you scroll up. I measured 0.1-0.2 ohm on my 2-pin 4.4mm. I have another one incoming MMCX 3.5mm. Maybe there are unit variations or it changes based on connectors.
I rolled the GCT5 4.4mm past hour on Simgot EA500 on some bass test tracks. Cables compared was EA500 OG SPC 3.5mm, Xinhs silver/copper hybrid 4.4mm and the GCT5. I can't say for certain it added bass on EA500. If something the GCT5 might have been slightly softer in the highs on EA500, which can be a good thing. Source was Fiio KA3 so not a technically correct comparison as OG cable was unbalanced vs the others 4.4mm.
Perhaps differences would have been easier to spot on another IEM.

A hint more bass and slightly softer treble matches my impressions of the GCT5. It’s a good copper cable.

A photo from my cable testing. Penon Mix, ISN C2, XINHS Silver Plated Coppper, NiceHCK BlackSoul. Only cable I'm not super happy about is C2, don't like to be seated around the ear. Due to no ear guide. ( also colour :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: )

Love the looks (and ominous name) of Black Soul
Already got a Black Cat on its way to me... Cannot wait to hear your opinion of Black Soul (and ideally if you can compare it to the Black Cat).

BlackSoul has a way of turning the treble back some, making lows and mids stand forward more. Unique cable, also why it is one of my favorites on my Neon Pro since its a forward sounding and energetic IEM. Also because of the design.

As always changes are small, and are they due to my expectations beforehand? That we can never know 😅

It's very light, and flexible. Sort of rubber feel to it. Only downside is that the light weight of cable and connectors make it feel more on the cheap side.

The Black Cat is quite mid focused, great to balance excessive V tunings. The Black Soul is darker, more mids and bass focused (or for reduced treble, if you prefer).

Hi All,
I did a quick browse through the 500 odd pages and need advice.
I'm using a 64 audio Fourte and I've tried these cables so far:
  • The old stock cable
  • Tripowin C8
  • Penon Pac480
  • Impi by Doctor Juggles
  • EA Eros S
Of all these, I've found the Tripowin C8 to be the best sounding thanks to the way it tames the highs. But I feel like there's more to be explored. I've been recommended the Kinera Leyding but I'm yet to try them.
I don't want to go to the pricey 1950s territory. Can you guys recommend something that lives upto the title of this thread?

What is it you need from the cable? If it’s just tamed highs, some value options are:

NiceHCK BlackCat (sale price under $20 only)
This OpenHeart cable
This Xinhs cable

Thank you. Tamed highs, yes. But I also feel like there's more in terms of resolution and soundstage to be extracted from the Fourte than what the C8 is capable of. Do you think your recommended cables would be good for that?

Of the 3 I mentioned, the Xinhs has more of the air/presence treble region than the other two, making it better for technicalities. Just one person’s opinion, see what others suggest!

I can't understand a reason to use a cheap cable for such IEM. But I can offer one cable.
US $35.00 20%OFF | FENGRU 610 Core Litz Type6 Pure Copper Silver Plated
This is one of the best of my cheap cables. It reduces power and brightness of treble, makes the sound more layered and bass.
I would buy much better cables for such IEM. At least this CEMA cable

Thank you. I don't mind spending on cables but so far, I've liked the C8 more than the pricier ones. I'll check the CEMA cable. If I were to stretch the budget to $300, what would you recommend?

All my IEMs are under $300 due to I cannot cross the psychological barrier when I believe that price difference does not give the same increase in sound quality. So my most expensive cable costs $180. Sorry.
That CEMA cable gives quite smooth sound, with tighter and deeper bass, the mids are very good for female vocals, the treble becomes like as rounded, without sharpness, but with better resolution and details.
