Well. I am interested in too. I have been waiting for my Alpha Dog for more than 5-6 weeks now. If these headphones are too good maybe I would trick my friend to buy one and then we could swap the Alpha Dog and Enigma in some times

These shouldn't be difficult to drive. I've talked to folks who thought they sounded pretty good out of an iPod w/o any external amp, but they do improve with amping. In other words they should grow with you if you decide to get an amp or upgrade down the road.

My "review pair" is being shipped out today. I'll be sure to test them out with a variety of sources and amps.

As for complaints about how they look, to each their own. LFF is first and foremost a recording engineer and hobbyist, and his headphones were originally designed to satisfying his needs and preferences rather than try to appeal to everyone. I think he'd be the first to say these aren't for everyone, and if style is your primary concern there are other good alternatives. I'm quite fond of the Focal Spirit Professional for instance. That being said, personally I think the Enigmas look really cool from pictures, and I suspect they'll feel more solid in person. They've got a handmade woodshop vibe to them like the older Audez'e headphones (the LCD-1 and the first LCD-2 w/ the metal headband).

Love the looks of these new cans.  I dunno, I always imagine the pursuit for headphone excellence = wonky looking cans.  I'd love to hear these cans and Luis seems like such a cool guy!
