LCD-X and XC Update

Yes, that won't be any problem. You can use the V5i for the line out and the V6 Vivid for the headphone out without any issue. I think you will be impressed with my EQ. I have had a few people message me after they tried it. They all said it is the most natural and balanced sounding EQ they have tried thus far on their LCD-X 2021.
Ok, thought so, that is excellent. That's the plan then.
I'm blown away that sub 30Hz EQ'ing actually makes an audible difference with these cans, its like having JL Audio car subs or SVS home subs in your head, its nuts.

What are your thoughts on an SPL Phonitor SE driving a pair of LCD-Xs? Will this be fine?

Definitely.

And I can see, you own 2C and thinking about X?
I had 2C for a week to try and now I have X few months and the X are a big step up. Detail is much bigger and everything just sound a lot better.
2C sound like some 200$ HP compared to X. And when X are equalized, they are really worth every penny.

Hi all, currently I have the LCD-2closed and wonder if its worth the money to upgrade to the XC? Ive read XCs are great with eq, but I can't eq with my current set up. I'm hoping the XC will have solid bass like my LCD-2closed but have more detail? Ive also read the XCs are brighter? At the moment I can't demo the XCs and just looking for general opinions. If the bass is similar between them, then might be worth the upgrade for detail. Thx.

I’m receiving my xc tomorrow I let you know. I will compare them to my old wood xc.

The DX7 Pro will definitely give you the dynamic impact and resolution that the LCD-X is capable of offering. The so-called reviewers on youtube are definitely wrong with their claims that this headphone can be properly fully driven off of phones and other lower power mobile devices. The resolution and dynamics are just not there when running off of low power output devices. The DX7 Pro is 1700 mW per channel at 32 ohms through the balanced output. This is easily enough of a power output to drive the LCD-X, along with many other headphones currently on the market. The headphone will not be held back in any way. You will be very satisfied with the performance. It is an excellent DAC/AMP combo unit.
I know one thing, that is I wish I would have given my LCD X more of a chance after reading all about all the capabilities for EQ. I returned mine shortly after I got them thinking that they were not for me. Oh well live and learn

An EQ is a great tool. I’m listening to my lcdi4 right now and without Eq they will sound bad. Eq makes them wonderful

The LCD-X certainly does require EQ to sound correct. This is the EQ that I created for mine. Once an appropriate EQ is put on the headphone, the sound quality is just spectacular. The LCD-X has an amazing ability to correctly image and offer excellent detail retrieval. It reveals everything that is present within the recordings.

Pre-Amp = -5

20Hz = +1.5 Q 4.32
25Hz = +1.5 Q 4.32
30Hz = +1 Q 4.32
100Hz = +0.5 Q 4.32
125Hz = +0.5 Q 4.32
160Hz = +0.5 Q 4.32
400Hz = +0.5 Q 4.32
500Hz = +0.5 Q 4.32
700Hz = -1.5 Q 4.32
800Hz = -0.5 Q 4.32
1.9kHz = +1 Q 4.32
3kHz = +0.5 Q 4.32
3.5kHz = +2.5 Q 4.32
4kHz = +1.5 Q 4.32
4.45kHz = +0.5 Q 4.32
5.5kHz = -1 Q 4.32
8.2kHz = +1 Q 4.32
12kHz = -2.5 Q 4.32

So i just downloaded Peace and the Equalizer APO, but i don't have that many eq bars. I only got 13
