Hello to every one. Is it worth it or there may be some better option? I like EDM, deep house music with nice punchy bass. Planning to make some upgrade from my current Focal Radiance to Fostex TH-900 MK2. Maybe ZMF Atrium, Audeze LCD-XC Carbon... what will be the best option?

Now that I had about a month to listen to the LCD-X with various DACs and amps, I think the purchase was worthwhile. The LCD-X has crisp bass and detail, and is very snappy and punchy. I definitely love using them. I think the LCD-X is an endgame level for some individuals.
I recently picked up the LCD-XC since there was a decently priced demo out there. I've heard a previous version with a bubinga wood, and yeah, this is WAY different. Though imaging and soundstage/sense of detail are amazing, the bass is light and the treble is peaky. Whether I'm bothered by it or not seems to be dependent on the recording. For example, this headphone sounds terrible with Rush's Roll the Bones, but fine with Zappa's Joe's Garage, and even some modern metal (Periphery, Therion).
I'm very curious about the Dekoni suede pads since my main listening rig has no EQ options. Looks like they should slightly increase bass and reduce treble. Has anyone used the Dekoni choice suede pads and found this to be true? Let me know your thoughts if so.
I bought a pair of LCD XC off ebay the other day for an absolute steal, which are in mint condition with exception for the pads (i knew they needed replacing before purchase). Can anyone help with how i can remove the old ones effectively? It looks like there is a felt pad between the earcups and the pads, the pads are coming off from the felt, but the felt appears to be very much stuck to the earcups - what is the best/safest and most sensible method of replacement? can i simply pull the pads off and stick the new ones on (i get the feeling that if i do i will very much be in the same position as Im currently in)? OR do I need to somehow remove the felt from the earcups before doing so?

It seems that the pads are not the original Audeze ones, rather they seem to be the Dekoni ones.
In this case the adhesive is a bit difficult to remove, you could try to heat the part slightly with a hair dryer set to minimum heat, so as not to damage the membrane.

yep by the looks of things you're spot on i didn't notice that at first. I feel a little hesitant to start putting a hair dryer near a pair of £1200 headphones, knowing that i might screw them up
Also... this may be a subject which has been answered somewhere else. however Dekoni or stock pads... which should I look at using unlike other brands i don't have the ability to A/B test these (easily).

I managed to tear the felt completely off one of the earcups when I recently replaced the earpads with the dekoni leather set. Got the new earpads securely on for now but don't have my hopes up for another earpad replacement in a year or two down the line...
The instructional video seemed to have been outdated; it showed the 3M adhesive coming straight off where that is the final layer you don't want to see when replacing earpads on newer headphones.
For what its worth, I am enjoying the Dekoni choice suede pads with the LCD-XC. It's tough to compare from memory only, but I did listen to a couple of albums that I heard with the original pads. Changes are subtle TBH, but I did feel bass drums moving a little more air and any test track of low sub-bass went marvelously. Songs that were annoyingly bright before didn't bother me so much (but I'd say they still come off bright, just with fewer bothersome peaks). The basic character of the headphone remains intact, but it feels more balanced. Keep in mind, I've listened to it straight for a week, so my brain is getting used to it and its still going through possible burn-in (my past experience with Audeze headphones was that they sound good right away). Soundstage still feels nice and wide with the Dekoni pads.
