LCD-X and XC Update

I haven't checked into this thread in a while -- last I checked with Audeze about 6 months ago they were not selling the shorter headband anymore. Did that recently change I assume?
You have to email customer support. They will also suggest the video posted above if you don't want to pay extra.

I have LCD X 2021 and LCD XC carbon 2021. The LCD X features a wider Sound Stage than XC and a better Bass than XC. The disadvantage is that the resolution is lower than that of XC and the high-pitched sound is rough. On the other hand, the characteristic of LCD XC is completely opposite of X. The high-pitched range is clean and the resolution is good. However, the disadvantage of XC is that the Bass is weak and the quality of the Bass is not good. XC also has a strong reverberation of Bass. On the contrary, X has a high-pitched reverberation. Personally, X is okay, but I think XC, which has higher potential than X, is a higher grade. Of course, it is the standard when applying EQ.

Is there anyway to remedy this pad or I should just buy a new one? Try wet wipes but no luck

Here is an unusual pairing … that works !! Audeze LCD-X (2016) driven by Grado RA-1 (twin 9V battery power). Synergy! Completely silent background, LCD-X detail & dynamics really come through ==> 🎼🙂🎵.

I've never had leather pads so big and plush and comfy and hot. Anyone have any luck cooling these down with aftermarket pads? I love how these sound, but can't enjoy them for more than 20 minutes without the heat becoming uncomfortable.

I'm thinking about Dekoni fenestrated pads -but more to lessen that vacuum effect in the cups (also they could appear to be cooler. It seems to me that after getting hot in stock leather pads my ears start to cool down, but yes, initial warm-up is still there). I don't know (or at least I didn't try) if anything can be as breathable as Hifiman Arya\Edition XS pads, so reducing vacuum is my only concern.

By the way do fenestrated pads reduce bass or add highs? I remember some users mentioned this dozens of pages back ))

Anyone else got different pads with their unit? : )
I thought that one side felt a bit softer, and now I'm sure) One pad is softer than another so it feels disbalanced on the head.

Anyone lucky? )

Yup, that's not right. Time to contact the seller, I think.

Pressing in the cups together like this is a surefire way on damaging the drivers due to the air pressure caused.

Don't ever push your cups together like this. We're talking about a very thin piece of film thinner than human hair being subjected to an immense amount of built up pressure.

This can cause premature crinkling, or outright kill a driver.

Planars are not like dynamic drivers. Exercise caution when it comes to pressure.
