It uses basically the same size wiring internally. That really thick Monoprice one is like 95% plastic and probably way less than 22AWG. I also noticed something bizarre..the internal wires were all not copper colored but silver(ish). Not silver wire itself, but just the color. Maybe it's tinned-copper or uses a different type of metal? Pretty weird.
 
I destroyed some of my old cables and it's a shock to see how ultra thin the wire is. The wire on my GE Pro 3.55mm cable was like almost microscopic!
 
I know the thickness of wire doesn't always mean much, but now I think i'll stick to Mogami W2893 and Belden 1192A.
 
I think I should make a TBSE cable from RCA/GE speaker cable and see what that's like

Have some questions as i am about to probably get a pair:
 
How much do they leak? Because i will be using them on the go only, and i honestly wouldnt want people hearing my music when its at 55%.
 
If i want to use them on the go, should i still do the M50 pad thing? Im asking because they might look goofy which is pretty contra-productive when youre out and about.

I think you'll be ok on the go.  I sit in bed next to my wife and I listen REAL loud and she doesn't really hear anything. Every once in awhile she'll tap me but usually when adds are on TV.   The pad swap really is a must.  The M50 pads are just a little thicker then stock pads.
But since they are oval your ears sit inside the pads better then the stock rounds.  This also helps block out noise in/out as well because of the better seal to your head.

I'd have to say "playing really loud" and the headphones ability to not leak sound to the environment, is crap. I'm not playing that loud, and people around are clearly able to hear what i'm playing. I'm thinking the wife above have turned the sound up on the TV to block out the headphone noise from the company.

Probably a poor seal. This might be fixed with something stuffed into the edges of the pads or M50 pads.
 
I don't use my DJ100 in public so I really really noticed much about the isolation. The pads really aren't deep so that doesn't help much..

Got M50's. I'm guessing the major downfall is... wearing glasses. If seal is an issue i'd point at them. I'll give it a go without glases one of these days.

Have you guys tried the rope mod? I think I'm using $5 fake V6 pads with some random rope I found in my basement. The fit is flawless as the old pads were too shallow.
