While not exactly measuring, I do have a good eye dealing with precisely built things that get launched into orbit for the past few decades. Used my finger since have better feel for the driver and not poking into it. Basically the difference for the rear of the ear area is STAX L300 with L700 pads is between 1-2mm (closer to 2mm) deeper than the RR1. The RR1 is actually deeper (~1mm) in the front since the STAX is wedge shaped and shallowest at the front.

Here are some Measurements of cavity depths (from earpad top surface) of some stuff I had lying around at the office -

1) Bose 700 NC : ~16-17mm

2) HD800 deepest point : 24mm and shallowest point : 10mm

3) RR1 - 15.5mm

4) L300 deepest point : 12mm and shallowest point : 8.5mm

I have my Aeon Flow lying somewhere in storage in my house, I'll try to find it and have it measured as well.

353x drives the RR1 pretty well. It is adequate for RR1s needs. With that said, if you can go the extra mile, a KGSS/HV amp is always beneficial to pro bias ESTAT headphones from my experience and the additional power really unleashes the full potential of these headphones.

It has been almost a month since I received the RR1. I still pretty much hold my initial impression in post #311. I was not able to spend as much time with RR1 as I have hoped (out of town for more than a week recently). I did manage to do some side-by-side comparisons between RR1 and my Stax's (L-300, SR-407). RR1 performs better in pretty much all areas. The bass has more solid impacts and the soundstage is wider than the Stax's. RR1 sounds crispier and very balanced. They are definitely one of the best headphones I have heard (e.g., the Edition-X sounded veiled comparing to RR1). Aumkar is also very responsive to emails and provided great customer support.

My only complain about RR1 is the fit. The clamping is getting better as the headphones are breaking in but still a bit too much for my big noggin. I am debating if I should keep the headphones, or if I should sell or trade them. If anyone here on this thread is interested in taking over my RR1 please send me a PM. (The S/N of my RR1 is #32.)
Thanks.

I heard of a guy who was bending the headband a little bit to get perfect pressure - maybe an option.
I myself did not test this.

Thanks but its price a way from 1000$.
Get the octave v2 special edition from mjolnir audio. His amps have more power and are built just as good if not better.

Stax 727A v.s Stax353X for RR1.
Is 727A(1150$) worth p/p in comparision to 353X(780$)?
Any one can give an advice?
I personally prefer the SRM 717 over the 727 A any day. If you look for it, you can find a unit within 750 usd. I sold mine for 650 ish a while back. The KGSS amps are based upon the 717 design so you can't go wrong with it.

I can not find 717 on Amz.
So this one is my blind buy. Any time Amz JP deliver crazy fast!
Hope it worksScreenshot_20191125-213859_Amazon Shopping.jpg

Thanks for the advice. Aumkar suggested the same thing. I think the headband is made of stainless steel and I did try a little bending. Although I didn't force it very hard I was afraid to make the headband out of shape. It did help a little bit of relieving the pressure.

Sorry about that, been busy with business other than Headphones.

Recently, we finished deliveries of the RR1 to our Bangkok group.
A few customers sent over pictures of their setup.

Setup 1 - RR1 w/ Glow Master, I do not know much about the Amp except that it is Ultra-Rare, only 2 made.
