Nah no, the text is there but yeah..I guess we have the same variant or something.
The AKG logo would make the cans look real sweet imo.

Still, not a big deal

Yea the M-Stage is nice ,unfortunately I just sold my K702's today for the Auduze LCD-2.  But i'll still hang around this thread.

There was a bit of an adjustment period from the DT770 to the K702 but they require decent amping to shine.  Compared to other headphones they are not as up front, in sense that its more spacious and at time easy to misplace details if that makes any sense.  So the 3d positioning in your head will need to adjust as well.  End of the day though you will feel the large jump in sound stage and sound separation.

Probably going to the LCD 2's though to gain some of that oomph back while still being open

some of the best looking headphones out there IMO

design-wise I love the K701, but they're a lot bigger than i think they should be. If they were DT880 size they would be absolutely perfect.

They are pretty huge, however the size of the earcup helps give the K701 its amazing soundstage

It's like they were sculpted by Michaelangelo lol

Anyone in here got much experience with amazon? Are most of the sellers on there normally pretty legit? I see the k701's and 702's are currently listed at around 50% cheaper than rrp, so even with the ~$100 postage to australia, it still comes out a fair bit cheaper than buying them here.

I bought mine from ebay from the seller service-and-sales for $258. Cheaper than amazon and they were delivered in 2 days. Very fast

At the moment I don't really like it much at all. I mean they are ok, but certainly not what I would consider a $200 pair of headphones. I do think that is due to the headphone/amp combo. I just don't think that I have the right amp (Little Dot 1+) to do the 701's justice. To me they are just very veiled. Bass is on the light side which I was aware of when I bought them however I don't find it too light. Mids are a bit forward and I actually like that. It really gets the vocals in the spotlight. Highs are not bright or harsh at all. Sound stage is pretty small right now. Everything just feels like there is a bit of a haze covering it. Veiled. My amp setup is warm though...I am hoping that is the problem...that and not enough power. I am going to hang on to them until I get the cash to get a new amp so I can give them a fair chance. If the improvement isn't pretty huge after the new amp I'll be selling them off.

For what it's worth....they are very, very nice looking headphones and are comfortable as well. No complaints in those departments.

are you planning to buy an amp? (matrix m-stage or e9 are cheap ones that drive k70x very well)

Yeah...and those two are at the top of my list. Just depends on how much I have left from my tax return after I pay off my mountain bike frame. I do want to give the 701's a fair chance before I write them off.
