Grokit, how does the size of the male connector compare to the stock JVC connector?  I'm hoping it is the same size as the JVC will fit through an iPhone bumper.  I'm thinking of placing an order for a 1ft extension, which should be a lot better for mobile than the 2.5ft stock extension.

It's probably too big, too bad the stock extension has a right angle plug.

LOL. Hmm for me i am using the 1-palm length Shure Extension, Love it for making the overall cable length of FX700 just right for my usage =))

Sweet. Ordered. This should be better for my needs anyway, plus right in the description it specifies fitting the original iPhone recessed jack, so that means it will fit the 4's bumper.

Great! *High Five* Its like the length is designed for the FX700 (at least for me~)

Superb! Thanks for the heads up, just what I need for my '700s. I've ordered one from Amazon UK.

On Amazon.com (US) the Shure 3' extension got two two-star reviews, and the 9" got a single one-star review, evidently either these cables have issues or all the reviewers do. So if you guys like them give them a good review on Amazon! I would try a 18" version if they made one.

What do you guys feel the ideal portable cable length is anyways? I think I prefer 1.2M/48" overall. So I guess I would prefer a nice thin 15" extension if I had my druthers.

Yeah I saw the lame rating on the 9". Who orders it then complains it's too short?

I think the 9" extension will be perfect for putting the DAP in my pocket. If I set the DAP on a desk, I usually like the cable a good bit longer.

I found a 5-star review for the 3' one, evidently there is more than one listing for it. Lol I hadn't read the 9" review, pretty funny.

I was doing some experimentation today with tips and EQ.  What I discovered is that the Sony hybrids present much better vocals than the stock tips.  I was toying with going back to stock tips, since they were so comfortable.  However when listening to vocal focused songs, it was a very noticeable difference.  If I “mashed” (southern technical term) the stock tips into my ear and held them there, they started approaching the vocals of the hybrids (which insert deeper), so this is leading me to believe these can sound better with deeper insertion that what I previously believed.

On my iPhone with the ‘Equalizer’ app, I’ve boosted the sub bass between 32 and 50hz and slight dip at 200.  I’ve also given it a boost in the 3k mids, with a slight dip around 7k, then back to boosting in the treble.  This combination, along with the Sony hybrids, is giving me a fantastic vocal presentation and a nice Atrio like sub bass kick.  Anyway the EQ is just an experiment by ear, I don’t have a FR graph to go by, nor have I measured the actual response.  I like splashy cymbals and this give me more of it.  Equalizer changes seem to be more subtle than EQu. (These same changes seem more dramatic to me on EQu, which isn’t necessarily good.  Why would this be?)  Also Equalizer doesn’t suffer from loss of gain/volume like EQu.

So I was wondering if the Monster bi-flange tips might even improve the vocals more due to the deeper insertion?  Anyone have any to try?

Just received my Mogami 3.5mm interconnect for my iPhone HO to iBasso T3 and it sounds incredible.

Everything sounds super clear with the FX700

My CK10 went from a 9/10 rating to 11/10...it sounds simply phenomenal.

The bass on the FX700 sounds so defined and textured, and the mids and treble sound even more enhanced and crystal clear.

Im for once FINALLY experiencing the true qualities of the CK10.. it is now my perfect IEM.

Mogami pwns. And its not even burned in yet. :)

Crickets.

I guess no one has tried any bi or tri flanged tips?  Or maybe you all are enjoying your JVC's too much to pay attention to me

By they way, the short Shure cable is genius.

Heh, Glad the short shure cable suggestion was of help ^_^ I am always stuck between large and med sony hyrids, Imaging and Soundstage is supreme on large sony hybrids but bass has better texture + mid a slightly more intimacy on med sony hybrids, hmm.. For now i will stick to the LArge Sony Hybrids = Listening to LIVE Music with them on Large Tips just sounds terrific.
