but compared DX2000 bass to something else such as Beyer T5P Gen2, you can easily see why people call the DX2000 (DX1000) basshead cans.

I was contemplating purchasing the  Beyer Dt1990 as an upgrade although worried about the bass lacking to the DX1000 I own. Do you think the comparison is a bad one?

I wanna help but I've never listened to the DT1990, so I have no idea about the sound.

Unfortunately, my pair of DX1000 starts to rattle on the left hand side even at small volume.
Anyone has the idea of replacement drivers?
Is it wise to buy another pair?

If you like their sound that much, you should buy them, their sound is unique. But if you wanna try something new, there are a lot of new headphones in this price range that sounds as good as the DX1000, but different. You may try somes to see if you still think you need your DX1000 or not.
By the way,  my DX2000 are in the classified right now,in case you wanna buy new DX1000.
Due to low trader feedbacks, I can put the headphones on ebay, where I have a high number of trader feedbacks, in case you want buyer protection.

My pair is bought directly from Japan for a collection purpose. I have kept it boxed until today (almost a year).
Its unique horizontally wide but not vertically wide sound and bass response is definitely as good as its look.

As Denon D7200 is coming to town, I torn between JVC DX1/2000 and Denon D7200. Both headphones are of the same price point.

I am extremely said to report that the JVC Japan does not have any more drivers for replacement.
Now I am heading to some good 50mm drivers for this housing? Would Denon D600 do the job?

I will try to compare them with my LCDX, but it may a bit of handicap to the DX2000, because I set my home system to suit my LCDX not the Dx2000 (I used to listen to an amp, which sound so good with the DX2000, but I haven't bought it yet). I will give my impression soon.

I am surprised the comfort factor does not play a larger role in comparisons. I realize it's all about the sound, but when you go from putting on a toque (DX1000) to a motorcycle helmet (LCD-X) it is kind of "overruling" the sound at times.

I feel you'd be better off with a Fostex/Denon variant based off the old Denon D2000/5000/7000 chassis.  The D600 was a decent headphone to many of us but not in the same league as the earlier Denon models.

That's correct, I dont even listen to the LCDX  much these days. It's not comfortable at all  wearing them more than 40 minutes (too heavy), even though I like my LCDX system at home as much as some SR009 systems, I've heard. I actually listen to my portable set up more, iSine20+Tralucent Uber cable are my main iems/headphones now and JH Layla are my iems for outdoor use.

If contacting JVC Japan, are you fluent in the Japanese language ?

If so, wondering if you might help a whole lot of us here to see if they have full replacement headbands stocked, or parts for the headband stocked & how to order them, please for HP-DX1000 ?

First of all I am from HK, where the DX2000 is still available on the market (even though it is extremely hard to find a pair) with full warranty and is on their local official website.

I then contacted JVC HK, whom confirmed the parts in DX1000 and DX2000 are the same, to ask JVC Japan for the availability of the parts on behalf of me.

JVC HK replied that as this product was published more than 10 years ago, JVC Japan does not have anymore parts for repairing. So my search for stock parts ends here.

P.S. It seems that even Japan does not have anymore stock for this headphone.

Thank you for replying. Did not realize JVC Victor is discontinuing DX1000 and DX2000. It's frustrating they haven't kept a supply of parts, some mfr's do for 10 years after a product DC or until they run out. Wonder how long they will sell out all the remaining sets. Oh well.

I am considering putting my DX1000 up for sale. Guess it can be cannibalized for parts. Works perfectly but a crack that I superglued on one side long ago and hasn't been a problem since. Earpads could be replaced for sue but they are useable. I moved away to speaker based system a while back and these are just sitting. Probably let them go for a reasonable price, sales thread later.
