Do search around.

There are 2 models, the HP-DX1000 for Japanese market and HA-DX1000 for European (sold in Germany). They are almost the same, except the word on the earcups. The HP-DX1000 is more expensive and sold by PriceJapan, AudioCubes... The HA-DX1000 is cheaper (don't know why) and sold by stores in Germany, price ranges around 420-450euro. If you have someone in Germany who can buy and ship it to you, it'd be a 300-400$ savings.

Technically, there is no American model. The DX1000 are not officially sold in the USA.

I should add that I did have to send over an attachment of a copy of the front and backside of the credit card, with most of the numbers covered over, to verify that the card was not stolen. They asked for a Fax. It took about a week to get the phones.

The headphone model is the European one, HA-DX1000; It is the same thing as the Japanese and American market model HP-DX1000.

That's good to hear. Also I plan on using Paypal so I shouldn't have to fax anything. Thanks for the info.

Indeed, much clearer and better defined bass than Denons. A bass lovers can for sure. I would have to agree with every comment you made in post #1 actually. Passes all the tests with two of my favorite songs you used in a review one time, Iced Earth/The Clouding and Within Temptation/Jillian.

I think these are keepers.

My mistake, no American model exists. As has been stated above. Only European and Japanese.

BTW, after using these for a few weeks, I can not get over how good they sound. They are my cans of choice for everything I listen to.

My beloved Denon D7000 sits unused.

Only complaint is that, because of their size, they are sometimes on the uncomfortable side especially when I put my head down. Working them up or down around my head fixes the problem. Other than that minor inconvenience they are a great set of cans.

I think some member in this thread already got them from germany, even members from the USA and everything went fine.

I'm getting mine from computer universe, so far so good, just got the news they were shipped today, 3 days after purchse, exactly as stated in the website. Crossing my fingers.
