I agree with this.  Yes, the treble is fatiguing after a while of listening, on some songs, but only a handful of times since I got them in December have I felt like the treble was harsh at all on these, and most of the time it's fantastic.

yeah for sure! After awhile, its really like "Man this is starting the sound is starting to hurt a bit."  The highs are crystal clear at least.  I really feel like they should try MicroHD Drivers broadcasting on different frequencies.  Like 1 for lows, 1 for mids-highs. That would be so natural sounding.

did some comparisons with PK1 today

PK1 - iBasso T3 (volume @ 2) -- LOD -- iPod Classic 160gb -- flac
FXT90 - T3 (volume @ 0.9) -- LOD -- iPod 160gb -- flac

- more bass impact from PK1
- FXT90 made me realize that PK1's mids and highs are slightly veiled
- my ears can stand the high's on FXT90s just fine (ie female screaming at 0:21 of this track)
- sound stage is wider on FXT90's, but then it's comparing earbuds/iems with different sound isolation..

i'm considering (read upgraditis
very_evil_smiley.gif
) another portable amp with digital volume control as i am using T3 at a level just above left/right channel imbalance for the FXT90's.. has anyone tried the RSA Shadow with the FXT90's?  i'm not looking to buy new IEM's for a while (how many times have we heard this lie on head-fi?), so i'm not sure if the Shadow will be overkill for my earbuds/iems?

Great!
Some of the best produced electronical music comes from Yello.
Try a track called Planet Dada [Flamboyant]
Listen after sounstage width and height, instrumental separation, harshness and sibilance.

Amanda Mair - Sense
Listen after flow, natural sound, air, slam in instruments, bass response, harshness in her voice.

Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower
As above
