quick impressions:
 
- i have the gold colored limited edition, and the cable is thicker than the ones on my PK1 and RE0, and i did not notice any microphonics with the cables
- the L shaped plug seems quite sensitive, as i can hear static/interference when i move/touch the plug while it's plugged into the iBasso T3 -- LOD -- iPod Classic
 - much less/almost none interference when plugged into headphone out of iPhone 4S or iPod Classic
- both side have "driver flex" as mentioned by others, only when i slightly apply pressure once i have a seal in my ears, slightly more on the right side than the left (stock medium tips)
 - did not notice driver flex when switched to Meelec balanced gray bi flange tips (prob due to different fit/seal)
- left/right volume balance seems to be good (using stock medium tips)
 - i used the medium single flange tips and small comply Tx-400 on the RE0
 
 

Odd that you said that the L plug is sensitive, and not the gear you plugged it to. For me at least, compared between the headphone out jack of the Fiio E10 and my Nokia N8, the Fiio is more prone to static when the L plug is fiddled with, while when plugged into my N8, it is non existent. I'll safely assume that maybe it's the plug of your devices rather than the L plug itself. That said, I'd be happy to be proven wrong though, if it's properly explained to me.

Well I didn't mean to say that L plugs are more sensitive than 'straight' plugs, I just happened to mention the L shape in the same sentence .
 
I also have RE0's which use L shaped plug, and it doesn't have this static/interference when I touch/move the plug while it's plugged into the T3.  Same with the PK1 and its straight plug.
 
Your example is exactly what I have experienced.  Plugging the FXT90 into 1 device (T3) results in more static/interference than another device (iPod/4S).  I remember reading somewhere (in this thread?) that because of the FXT90's low impedance of 12 ohms, the ideal output impedance of the source should be in a range defined by 12 / 8 = 1.5 +/- some value.. so perhaps the output of the T3 is too high and doesn't pair well with the T3.  I will start with using the headphone out of the 4S/iPod once I let it burn in for 30-40 hours.

Well it looks like Future Shop got these in earlier than expected as I recieved a shipment notice today. So any fellow Canadian's wanting to try these, now is the time. Future Shop is selling these for $99 which is cheaper than buying overseas and faster plus they can be taken directly to any store if you don't like them.

Now what to tell the wife when she see's them... DOH!!

That's a great price for the performance IMO. I thought for $118 (including shipping to Russia) was a great enough deal, but $99? Lucky Beiberlanders.

I bought that on accessoryjack, I tried to contact by email last week but they haven't reponse yet.

Check your spam or bulk mail folder.  I had some emails from them get miss-routed by my provider, even after a few had gone back and forth.  If not, email again.  A week is more than plenty time to respond.  When I had an issue, AJ promptly replaced it.

I've found my FXTs have great synergy with my 6th gen. iPod Classics headphone oiut! I've tried my 7th gen Classic, but not the same, it looses some of its magic! and I've tried amping it but it has no need for one, they drive ssooo effortlessly, and sound ssooo awesome! ka-sweet! a very full and uber balanced sound, great mids bass and treble, but the one thing they really have going for them is there oh so well balanced sound, the mids bass and treble all compliment each other oh so well! and the great soundstage, detail, and instrument speration also help out the overall sound signiture that these puppies put out! KA-ka-sweet!

just ordered a pair of JVC fxt90's over a pair of aurisonics asg-1. Probably a mistake, but I love these exotic earphones.... I was like "2 DIAPHRAGMS?!"

I think I'm ready to sell my FXT90's, I've tried and tried to like them but I just can't.  While they have a decent soundstage the presentation just sounds really cluttered and I don't like the mids either they just sound off to me in some way.  The highs are detailed and not sibilant but again theres just something about them I don't like, the bass is the only thing I do like but my Atrio MG7 blows them away and not just in terms of bass the whole presentation.  I know that they're a good set of IEM's just not what I'm looking for.

hey that happens sometimes man.  There just headphones that you just cant like.  I will say, out of every headphone I've sold, I absolutely cannot get rid of my MG7's.  I really think they are one of the most astounding headphones that has ever been produced.  I would go that far to say that.
