Hey I found this site, whiterabbitexpress.com that basically buys anything you want from japan and sends it over for a finding/handling fee. Here is the quote I got from them for the FXT90. Seems like a better deal than anywhere else, especially with EMS, so I'll give it a shot.

-Product total ($104.79) plus shipping by EMS ($20.32) = US$125.11
-Product total ($104.79) plus shipping by Registered Airmail ($14.77) = US$119.56
-Product total ($104.79) plus shipping by Registered SAL ($12.06) = US$116.85

edit: It probably isn't as cheap as buying it yourself and using tenso, but I found it confusing to navigate all the japanese form fields and addresses.

I agree Dr G seems good. Do you have a link for the JVC Phones too

I have both. I thought MG7 would be better for what I've read about it's bass. What I thought by reading: Plenty of bass, great impact, but very controlled - quality bass with much impact and little or no midbass. What I got: Very good and detailed bass with almost no midbass, not much impact. Bass is detailed but far from the rest of frequencies, not upfront, but detached, not connected to the rest. It's strange initially but you get used to it. Tips don't change the sound much on MG7 for me, it's just a matter of comfort.

I prefer Eternas (w biflanges) over MG7 for impact purely. I prefer TF10 (with foams) over MG7 for impact and quality os bass.

FXT90 and MG7 are on par for the bass. Impact is even, quality and control are best on MG7 but on FXT90 the bass is part of the music, not detached from it. FXT90 is brighter overall. Treble is similar but you need to have in mind that the FXT90 is brighter. What makes the FXT90 better for my tastes is simply: Soundstage and Dynamics.

FXT90 is my favourite IEM right now because it's very dynamic and fun... everything is upfront, I dont miss anything, like I miss severely the mids on TF10 and the bass on B2.

Hope this helps... even if it's a little (ok, very) confuse. o.O

I am considering getting Atrio MG7 at the moment.  But I already own Eterna v1, TF10, and FXT90, and I actually enjoy a little mid-bass bleed.
Do you think Atrio will add any appreciable improvement or variation over this collection of IEMs?  Thanks

I've also read some people comparing FX500 as an alternative to Atrio.  While some here have said FXT90 has 90-some-% of the sound quality of FX700.  And since FX700 is the big brother of FX500, does that mean FXT90 also sounds a lot like Atrio?

I picked these up looking for a similar level of SQ as the "critical consensus hit" GR07, only with a signature favouring musicality, imaging, and dynamics over neutrality.  In the end, I got what I was looking for.  There's a part of me that wonders what I'm missing out on, not having heard the GR07s.  But bearing in mind that the FXT90s were approximately $50 cheaper, and that many who have both sets tend to see-saw back and forth between them, I feel pretty confident with my decision.

That said, I'm probably different from a lot of people on this forum, in that I have no intention of trying out 40 different sets of headphones in search of some unattainable, fluctuating ideal of sonic perfection... not that there's anything wrong with that! ;)

That's what they all say

I think it depends on what's your expectation. If you seek strong bass punch, with the reference you have, no. But if you seek a tight controlled bass with some punch, yes, maybe. And the Atrio's price dropped a little, so you can have it cheaper than some month ago.

FXT90 is brighter than MG7, so you need to consider that. I never heard FX500 or FX700, but looking pictures, MG7 construction may feel like a toy compared side by side to them.

Is it really worth paying 20 to 30 dollars less through one of these forwarding services instead of going with accessoryjack.com ?

I just worry that warranty coverage is going to be extremely complicated to pursue (if I need to use it) through amazon.jp. Accessoryjack's warranty policy seems pretty straightforward. Anyone had to return the fxt90 after purchasing through one of these services?

Dont advice you to use amazon.jp
If warranty service needed you will loose the battle paying more in cash and time for getting this replaced. Go through dealers with good warranty and customer support

I've returned the FXT90s via AccessoryJack without a problem. Customer service was good, letting me return the item even against their return policy after I explained my 'situation', and they kept in good contact.

Listening to the FXT90 for a few days now.  Excellent headphone but am unfortunately getting some creaking in the left side when I move my jaw. Flex?  Anyway, a couple thoughts.  I have read a number of comments of how the dynamic range of this headphone is better than the GR07.  I do not agree.  It certainly has some increased energy in the upper frequencies but I think the effortless way the the vsonic can transmit music wins for me.  Still burning in the FXT90 so I will compare again in a couple days.

I think you are misinterpreting dynamic range. The GR07 is made with a weaker motor on purpose and lack of dynamic range is a result of this design.  The FXT90 shows more range from delicate passages to powerful passages, whereas the GR07 displays less difference between the two extremes.  You may prefer the GR07 presentation and sound more but it doesn't have a greater dynamic range.

It sounds like you are describing driver flex. Normally it only occurs upon insertion. If it happens everytime you move your jaw, you might want to consider exchanging them as it is annoying for it to happen that often. I did when I first pair did the same. My replacements don't do it except once in a great while and that was only with stock tips.
