I just got through listening to Fluke's Progressive History XXX in 320kbps, and man does my RoxClip+ ever love these phones. The sound I eke out of them using just slight EQ tweaks is addictive, I just want moar music. Mids and trebles so clear and sharp you can feel the earwax dislodging in your ears.

Well I got my fii0 E5 in the post today... and YES!!  This gives that added bit of oomph I've needed with these 'phones
The sub is definitely there with the "bass boost" feature and I get that extra bit I was looking for.
The bass is really good on these earphones, just slightly lacking in sub bass, that's all and the overall sound is amazing.

For anyone else who finds this, I do recommend one of these little gadgets, very helpful.

Although If I'd have known about the lack of sub bass, I would have probably have opted for another set of earphones... I don't think spending extra just to get the right sound is really a thing you should have to do, But, you live and learn.

My "Chill-out" playlist now sounds as it should and the extra low end is present and correct.

Enjoy some chilled music. (With serious sub bass)

My FXT90s work best with my Clip+. However I've found that certain highs pull (for lack of a better term) to the right i.e. the vocals in Mike Oldfield's Incantations Part 4. When I invert the earphones and wear them over the ear, the vocals are balanced. I believe its an issue with proper sealing in my right ear, and subsequent resonance. I'm hoping the pair of Shure Triflanges I ordered will help with proper sealing while maintaining the vocal clarity. BTW, how does one wear these over the ear *without* inverting left and right...?

Unless you're concerned with proper right/left instrument positioning in the track, it shouldn't matter.

I am, especially with pieces I'm used to listening the "correct" way. It all sounds very disorienting when listening to inverted. I guess I'm just too anal about my classical/orchestral music.

Actually that does bring up an interesting point that I have been meaning to ask for ages.

With IEM's and headphones,  with the left and right channels, are the left and right channels representing that you are looking at the stage and hearing what comes from there, or are the left and right relative to the performer(s) standing on stage (or in the studio) and listening to whats around them?

The reason I ask is that the signals I get from any IEM/Headphone seem to be the opposite of what comes out of my car radio.

I assume you are supposed to be "looking" at the source of the music and not "playing" with it. After all, microphones and recording devices are placed in front of the band/instrument/source, not behind or beside it, right?

After having them for the past 2-3 weeks, there are my impressions.

Comfort / Isolation:
The FXT90's design and angled nozzle fits well in my ears and are very comfortable. They are designed so that they can be worn cable up or down. Personally, I find wearing the cable down more comfortable, but regardless of how they're worn, both ways create a snug fit and never did I find myself adjusting them even in long listening sessions. Isolation however, is subpar (there's a little vent) and not very isolating. It is a little better than the FX700, by just a teeny bit.

Sound:
The overall sound is very dynamic and "fun". Compared to the FX700, the FXT90 is brighter, has less sub bass and more forward mids. It is transparent and quite detailed. A solid all rounder that is good for all genres.

Lows: Bass is strong and punchy, but it does not overpower the mids or the highs. Quantity wise, they do not have enough to be classified as a true basshead IEM, but they do extend well into the sub bass region. Although there is just a hint of mid bass hump, the bass is not muddy and is well textured. The bass is tight, with just the right amount of weight and impact without being offensive. They are still not a bass-light IEM though, and if a song calls for it, the bass will still turn it up a notch.
Mids: The mids are slightly forward and not recessed like I find the FX700's mids to be. It is a little warm and very engaging. Guitars sound absolutely amazing on the FXT90. Vocals are also rendered extremely well with a sense of intimacy and lushness. The note presentation isn't soft, but not too aggressive and still has good detail retrieval. As a whole, the midrange is smooth, refined and quite transparent. I actually find the FXT90 to be slightly mid-centric, especially when compared to the FX700 side by side.
Treble: The treble is forward and bright, yet it is not too harsh nor is it piercing. It is energetic while still retaining the smoothness of the midrange. The treble balances out pretty well with the mids and lows. The FXT90 does have some treble sparkle and I did detect just a tiny bit of sibilance that does not interfere with my enjoyment of the track.

Soundstage
As a big fan of the FX700's, I had high expectations for the FXT90. The FXT90's soundstage is above average with good width, lots of depth and is very well layered. It has great timbre and instrument separation could not be better. The FXT90 does not have a laid back sound, instead it seats you pretty close to the stage and really engages you in the music.
