just purchased a pair of D7000 on amazon for an amazing deal

Wow, congrats. That's basically my dream headphone.

An excellent deal, lets hope you like the Denon signature over the Ultrasone.

i've demoed the d7000 before. It was brief but i loved the sound. they were much more to my liking vs. the hd800 and gs1000 which i also demoed. if these are as described by the seller then i will be double satisfied since they were such a deal. i checked my tracking and they are already in nj. i'm returning my pro900 thursday and hopefully the d7000 is here by then :)

they're here!!!! opened the box and they look brand spanking new. still have all the stickers and everything on them, all manuals in plastic etc. too early for impressions but out the box they aren't sibilant like the Pro 900, but they don't have the bass of the pro 900 either. i would say midrange is more recessed compared to the hd600. this is still very early listening. How long should these burn in?

Damn and the used one is 835 euros lol... I love going to amazon.de at work. when I compare prices for customers it's almost a no brainer to buy in the states lol.

Btw I've noticed that the Pro 900 were much better with EDM than the D7000. I miss them in this regard. Damn why did they have to be so sibilant?!

Yeah the sibilance is definitely a problem. You could look into the MarkL mod, search it in the forum or check lawtonaudio on google.

no, i don't find the d7000 sibilant; well compared to the pro 900 at least. i was saying why did the pro 900 have to be so sibilant. sorry for the confusion.

For the Pro900 there is an even easier mod to take care of the sibilance, called the Kees mod:

Hmmm so I've noticed the D7000 are sibilant as well, just not to the level of the Pro 900. I guess I'm just a Sennheiser head. HD600 are still my fav. I'm a little disappointed so far considering the price premium for these cans. They do things well but I'm just not blown away by them like I wanted to be.

They are both sibilant cans to be honest, I think most people feel that way. But the MarkL mod and Kees mod are definitely worth checking out!
