I used Sculpey with good results.  Just so long as it doesn't air dry it should be fine.

Anyway, after using these for awhile, I'm really missing the comfort of my 595s...I just can't wear these for longer than an hour before having to give my ears a break.

Do the suspension headband mod I posted. It makes these headphones uber-comfy! I can't think of a better way to improve the comfort level of these headphones.

^ ditto, I did the leather strap with the LFF headband suspension mod and it really helped a lot! Almost up to beyer standards ;)

What would be a good place to get some leather for the suspension mod? I'm thinking of doing that for my T50RP and try it on the one I bought last week as well as do the BMF mod..hopefully this week if I have time.

I used a livi's leather belt cut to length and drilled out holes in the ends of it for the elastics ;)

I bought some nice leather from a cobbler (shoe repairmen) for a good price. You can even asked them to sew it for you.

On that subject. Anyone re-cabled their T50rp and with what kind of cable?  what was the result on the sound please?

That would be an easy way to get a single ended re-cable and a balanced pair....

I have some super sculpey on hand; would that work?

Sculpey tends to become rock hard in colder environments over time, the 2 lbs. of clay I have sitting in my closet are probably rock hard by now -- would this be a problem?

Well, I've never used Super Sculpey before, but my Sculpey was a bit hard after taking it out of the box.  Just knead it for a short while and it'll loosen right up.

Yeah, I did a basic one with paper and hairbands!  It definitely does improve comfort, but I'm still stuck with the same earpads which I find uncomfortable...

Does anyone have a link to this post?  I just wanna make sure I'm doing it properly.

I just added a piece of Paxmate under the headband for now and it's better for me.

Great suggestion.  I'll be passing my local guy on the way to the store today; I should hit him up.

I haven't had comfort problems wearing either of my Fostex... but a mod for increased comfort is not lost on me.

I got my Objective 2 amp from aerohoff at diyaudio today.

Initial power up and listening with the t50 is very good. Plenty of headroom for the t50. Driven via LOD from flac's on the ipod it sounds great. Clean, transparent, accurate, zero noise, lots of black between music, very flat, bass is not shy, not as dynamic as the lyr but its got that solid state punch the lyr doesn't quite have. It really is like "wire with gain".  Overall very happy!

I'll have more to say later when i get some quality time under the belt.

Nice clear front plexiglass on the O2.  I'm waiting on my front plate from GB.

aerohoff was selling the amp, batteries, and the triad power supply for 135! heck of a deal to say the least. I think he said he's going to be making a second batch but probably about 150 total dollars since he underestimated costs this time around. I really like the etched plexyglass he used too!

edit:  I just had to edit this to reflect on another thought i had about the O2...  Im listening with my triplefi10's right now and it's like im plugged directly into the DAC.

For me the O2 can be described as portraying exactly what the recording is, nothing more, nothing less. I'm hearing sub-bass with the triplefi's that ive never heard before on certain recordings. Same goes for the t50 but the tf10 are dumping loads of taught perfect sub-bass into my skull that the t50 cant seem to do! maybe the amp really just cant push the t50 to do that, or my damping is holding it back who knows. Sorry for eargasm central over here....

Oh, it looks like the silverstone acoustic foam has arrived.  Man, they shipped it in a huge box.  Looks like there's a lot more of it than I was expecting too.

Now, what's the best way to measure out how much is needed?  I've just been cutting out little bits of paper then using them as a guide...
