I just received my T50s. Holy **** the sound is amazing. I'll give them a week of burn in before getting into any mods, but so far i'm quite pleased. I also don't think they're lacking in bass. Or maybe I feel there's enough bass because I've spent the last few days listening to my HD555s.

I'm not sure the HD-555 classified as an adequate Sennheiser 'phone.  I believe they were selling for about $79 (US $$) a bit over a year ago.  Now, though, it appears the price is much higher.  I know I wasn't too impressed with my pair of HD-555s, so I ended up selling them after nearly a year (with a lot of the time sitting  unused) on eBay for about the same price that I paid for them.  At the moment, I have a pair of the HD-580s on my head being driven by just an iPod Classic (no amplifier) -- and, I must say, the sound is pretty good - almost darn good.  The HD-580 is the predecessor to the HD-600, etc. and was manufacturerd from the 1990s through 2004 (or so).  They were also made in Ireland.

I'll have to perform some A / B testing with them against the T50RPs when I get them home tonight and connect them to the EF-2A.

I bought my M50 and my HD555 before joining Head-fi pretty much based on amazon reviews. Had I been here earlier I would've saved some money and would've gone with a $300 headphone. Now I know better.

Surprised nobody commented on the wordplay - "Taylor Made" -  as in tailored, as in modified....

Ask John Mayer. God, he's an idiot.

So I just saw an informercial for Flexseal. Basically a spray on rubber sealant. So the obvious thought is, has anyone tried something like this before as a damping material? I'm sure there are similar products out there for cheaper, though I haven't looked too extensively.

Flexseal = Spray on PlastiDip.

Can of Flexseal at my local store: $11.99

Can of PlastiDip Spray at local store: $5.99

They're the same?  Good to know!

I don't know if they EXACTLY the same but I know plastidip is great stuff. Heat resistant, water resistant, you can paint it, it's flexible, can spray it from a can...hmmm....sounds like an infomercial.

EDIT: Keep in mind the dipping stuff is great, The spray goes on thin....

Yeah, in the Ortho thread I think it was, folks were discussing putting a layer of Plastidip on the back of an earpad.  In particular I believe it was the dip can.  I was trying to imagine building up layers of spray applications, because I do have a can of the spray variety.
