Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

Current configuration is:
 
1) Plasticine in the baffles
2) layer of paxmate in the cup
3) white stock driver felt retained with a layer of tweed fabric
4) stock vent felt removed and replaced with tweed (3 slots covered)
 
Also, I just bought a pair of Smeggy inspired Thunderpants from Schwallman that were made by Marty of Martin Custom Audio. Claro Walnut cups, copper cable, and 02 pads. They sound very nice and dont have the peaky mids of my stock pair. I havent had much of a chance to listen to them yet though, something else is getting some head time right now

That's right. One modder was using a hole saw to cut out his cups. But I don't recall anyone creating anything but circular cups.

Down to one last mod to test....  Very, very happy right now.  As I noted earlier, these are already beyond LCD-2, and I have one last idea to take them further.  I plan to have Purrin test them to get them quantified.  Sound is awesome...  I have a ton of experiments rolled in, but essentially there are five updates to the Rastapants, and all of them are on top of what was previously done.  There's no going back on these mods.  Seriously sleep deprived from enjoyment.

I think I'm just going to hold off on any more modding until I can hear what Mrspeakers has to say...  I'm pretty happy with how they are right now.  I keep making small changes every day to tweak the sound since I notice things here and there from day to day as things settle.  Without doing any other permanent mods, I've heard almost all variations of the sound these can produce, and its crazy how much they can be tweaked.
