After I burned in my JH Roxanne black CF about 40 hours with variative set up , I found my set up below as one of my best set up :
Source : AK 240
Pre amp : Wagnus Valvola tube pre amp / tube buffer prototype 000
Amp : Wagnus Epsilon S prototype 000
CIEM : JH Roxanne black CF with bass setting : at 9 o'clock = 0.00 DB
Cable : AK 240 > tube pre amp Valvola : IC Crystal Cable Dreamline
Tube pre amp Valvola > Wagnus Epsilon S : IC Crystal Cable Standard Diamond
High : very smooth and rich in detail
Mid : very sweet and intimate with little bit sibilance
Bass : very good impact and very deep bass
Separation : very good music separation
Soundstage : very wide and very good depth
Overall :
During my burning time , I found out my JH Roxanne CF is not as dark like what heard from friends and what I read here on head Fi
JH Roxanne CF sound character as follow :
AK 240 : I heard smooth and warm to dark sounding JH Roxanne CF
AK 240 + Chord Hugo : i heard very good in detail and bright sounding JH Roxanne CF
Mid a bit sibilance but does not disturb me
AK 240 + Bakoon HDA 5520 : my JH Roxanne CF sound so full with rich in detail and extended high
Very thick and clear mid and very tight and fast bass
In my opinion JH Roxanne CF is not dark , the sound character will be change follow your source and amp
Character .JH Roxanne CF need very good amp to get the maximum sound quality
If the power not enough like direct my AK 120 Titan mod or AK 240 sound character is warm to dark
I like my JH Roxanne CF if I pair with DAC and amp .
