This was a unit owned by the owner of the shop I went to... No way to determine its age, but the leather case was quite well tarnished...
Was this a brand new Ak240? Remember your AK240 has been burned in for longer.
question for @piercer - what did you have for lunch today? A pair of Woo Audio WA234 mono blocks? or for that matter what's for dinner?
Since you quoted Duncan's response to me, I must ask: Was whose a brand new AK240 and which run in longer? Mine had been in personal use about a year at the time of my Layla audition.
I'm somewhat curious about the concept of burn-in for DAPs. I can (sort of) understand the concept of burn-in for moving parts like drivers in headphones, but what's the principle behind how burn-in works for things like DAPs that don't have moving parts?
I suppose a way to look at burn in, but in a super quick way, is to look at how Class A amps work, how they sound better when running hot...
Should I reshell my AK Layla?
I am going to be getting some snugs tips for mine. They are a half-shell design as the Laylas are too big to have a whole shell cover. It'll basically be a bit like a custom IEM. When I have them I will post pictures.
