From all the iems in my small collection H40 was the most impressive upon first auditioning....that WOW factor that cannot be forgotten or erased from memory....Hope this ll be the case here as well.....EST50 ll propably be my next one.......

My basshead pride and joy!

EST50 certainly has the wow factor! Mini subwoofers in your ears to wrap yourself up in deep textured bass. Well controlled too so it doesn’t spoil but supports the other frequencies. Tempted to hear them with the new G4.

EST50 very strong recommendation from me especially if you enjoy ISN and Penon house sound.

So that depends if you want a new IEM or not. H50 is different more mature tuning and certainly differnt enough to consider. If you are happy with the H40 and want an upgraded cable. The cable I would recommend for it is the ISN SC4..

By the way guys I left an impression of the ISN G4 cable on the Penon thread. here
Thank you for your answer.
Same cable advice for the H50 (second hand opportunity): ISN SC4 ?

I really like the new ISN G4 for the H50. Thicker copper based graphene cable. SC4 is more silver based so it matches well with the H40 bringing out more detail and technial aspects of the H40. H50 is tuned differently so when I tried the G4 the other day. It sounds great using that cable.

I have just tried my H40s again with the cable I have, the ISN S8.
With my X20, it needs some EQ tweaking and the treble is a bit flat for listening to jazz brass.

But above all, I have a problem with this cable which bends over the mmcx connector and cuts itself.
I tried to block it with some thermo tubing.
Has this ever happened to you on ISN ?

I had the same problem for while. It's working fine now.

You can squeeze a tiny bit more uppermid, lower treble from the tuning by taking off the stock mesh dampener. Just ensure you have replacement mesh to put in its place.

How you find the mids/vocals on EST50 , is that forward or recessed ???

Mids/vocals fairly neutral. Strong vocal clarity not forward or recessed. Even though the bass is powerful mids fairly balanced and clear. No bass bleed.

If I'm going to get my h50 an upgrade cable, would you recommend Penon GS849 or the new ISN G4 more?

Save a few bucks and get yourself the new ISN G4. Truth is I like both on the H50 but the new ISN G4 smooths out the upper treble emphasis a touch more vs the GS849. However the GS849 makes the H50 sound a touch richer with even greater note weight. Both cables matches nicely with the H50 so might as well go with the cheaper one especially since it is on a special price right now.
