Is the Ultrasone PRO 900 worth it?

You can really see the lineage between the SA-5000 and the fabled Qualia just
on aesthetics. I imagine they were quite the comfortable pair.

Considering Ultrasone Pro 900, Denon D7000 and Audeze LCD-2 are all superior to those cans you mentioned, those are the true revered bass emphasized headphones. It's just a different class altogether.
 
And yes, the Pro 900 are indeed a special flavor, and while it might not work for some, it most certainly performs admirably for me.
