On a price/performance ration, absolutely. And they would hold their own with the AD and HFM sonically, haven't heard the others..

Is Grado evolving too slowly? Or de-evolving too fast.
 
I got an RS-1e and am very disturbed by the sound. What the hell have they done to their wonderful headphones?

This has been most disappointing to me...hearing as many negatives as positives on the RS1e

No, not on a price/performance ratio.  Base on those criteria, my PX-100II smoke every headphone I've ever heard. That's not a very meaningful comparison to make outside of the context of price/performance
