In my experience :

Gun metal: thick and smooth
Silver: lively and airy
Pink: all about the treble

<grumble> still waiting on mine to get shipped.

I agree with those filter classes and the silvers are definitely the most in your face of the three. The gunmetals are great all around, but they will not have that sudden impact the silvers have. I still haven't pinpointed where the purple fit in all of this. I've had a decent amount of listen with gunmetal, very limited with silver and purple.

I would love something like the Purples with more bass emphasis. 
 
Or you could just blow our ears off with something even more bassy than the silvers.

One will be between the silver/red(techne) and Gunmetal and the other between the Gunmetal and purple.

  checked status and reached heathrow...but gave me heart attack with status 'ARRIVEDUNKNOWN BAG - MISSING DUN'. checked glossary, what's a relief (label came away and they replaced it). few more days to go

Sure seems like that's what most people are regretting. The game's 5-card draw and Bob's started out with 3 Aces.
