Triode mode with Fir Audio Rn6 is an absoulte delight, listening to Julia Jacklin and the female vocals along with bass/response is sublime.

@Shanling I put my player on the charger and when I got home and removed it the display backlight was on and so was the red LED light but the DAP isn’t powered on and is in a frozen state. How do I force reboot it?
I have that intermittent issue two times when I charge up. Once when I had it switched off, another time when it was switched on. Normal android force reboot got it started up with no issues.
No big deal. But annoying nonetheless. @Shanling Pls take note of this bug. Thanks
We are looking into these reports.
Solution seems to be forced restart, hold down the power button for 2x 15s.
Love this DAP. Really versatile and has that wonderful Shanling/AKM house sound which is so good.
My only gripe is how aggressively they neutered Android here. No capping on battery charge. I can't seem to change wallpaper. And when in USB/DAC mode I can't swtich from transistor to tube.
Otherwise - wonderful player with incredibly versatile sound.
The amount of controls in USB DAC is a bit limited, but our software team is working on getting there more settings.
For battery capping, our software team never supports this on any of our models.
Any more impressions using sensitive iems like Clara? I'm also wondering if M9 Plus is still the TOTL Shanling DAP despite it being out of production or if the M8T manages to surpase it sonically? Maybe just a different flavor?
The M9 Plus is still a bit higher in sound quality, but the sound tuning is quite different between them.

Which watt charger do you use?@Shanling I put my player on the charger and when I got home and removed it the display backlight was on and so was the red LED light but the DAP isn’t powered on and is in a frozen state. How do I force reboot it?
Official website said that 18watt support, but manual recommend to use DC5V 2A adapter.Apple 20W
Can you charge with 10watt when battery reach like 25%?
See that if still freeze.
Whilst it may be true, it should not happen. We are looking into these reports.

Agree. The M9 Plus and M8T complement each other. Though I will say that the M8T is more tempting as a travel companion, to a non-streaming DAP, due to its inbuilt options for sound signatures.
I left it to charge again and experience the same behavior with the device freezing. When I rebooted it by holding the power button and left it plugged in, I noticed I cannot turn the display off. So there’s some weird behavior going on when it’s being charged.

No I haven’t. Given I am not the only one who has this issue I’d assume it’s something on the software side of things. I use this charger for all of my DAPs and don’t have problems anywhere else (and I didn’t with the M9+ either), so I’ll wait to hear back from Shanling.

@Shanling
I encountered some issues with charging:
1. Sometimes, when I plug in the charger, the side light turns on, and the battery icon shows it’s charging, but the battery percentage remains the same.
2. Occasionally, when I leave it to charge overnight, the screen lights up entirely white and becomes unresponsive, requiring a force quit.
3. Certain chargers are not compatible or do not work.
4. When I charge the device while it’s turned off, sometimes the device turns on, displays the charging icon, and keeps turning on and off instead of staying off with the screen dark during charging.
i try 5 charger , it same all. it's annoy so much

There is an open source project (at github.com) and software (apk) (at f-droid.org) to manage battery charging levels, unfortunately root is required for them to work. Maybe it would be possible for the Shanling software team to review the open source software and implement and fine tune the code for Shanling devices running Android OS? Anyway, it's not a demand from me, just a thought that the open source code might be useful to implement the feature. For battery capping, our software team never supports this on any of our models.
For those wanting to control the charging level to increase battery life, there is a hardware device which is connected in between your charger and a DAP or an Android phone or iPhone called the Chargie. It works in tandem with an Android or iOS app, but can also function without using the app to control the charging level.
Picture is of USB Type C and Type A versions.

Another thing regarding the charging issue. I know that the m8t received its first software update few days ago. Could it be that the issue has occurred after the update? Also are they any users who haven't had this issue yet? I could be wrong but I have the feeling that all people in this forum who have purchased and received the player have reported similar charging problem?
